Guest guest
Hi onii, good to read you again....! My body seems to make P too, although I'm not taking any. I say that although my P blood levels show as very low, but I have again hives with itching and "dirty hair" after a day ! I take only Maca and Shizandra for hormone balance, no E! My E though was high for postmenopause - 237 - so I got scared without any P showing in my blood, so I took a uterine scan - which then showed only 4-5mm thickness, no fibrous stuff either... I "bet" my 2 drops Lugols iodine/iodide has made my (formerly 12mm) uterine lining shrink, even without periods whatsoever... It would be interesting and very irritating to say the least, to eventually discover an iodine to P escalation ? I took iodine for over a year though, with o u t apparently having P (say DHT) problems. Last night I started taking Saw Palmetto again to potect me from those DHT symptoms, but the itching was just as bad and kept me awake from 1.30 to 6am... Rosette, my T was very low too while taking Saw Palmetto, so you're right, it doesn't help to "up" Testosterone. Years ago if I ate something like a pastry or such, I would get very constipated! I always thought it was just the white flour and no fiber but could be more to it...I got into colon cleansing about 20 years ago, using fiber products like psyllium cominations and was really into getting cleaned out. I had a horrible diet growing up of processed foods. After pregnancies in 20's I have battled depression and was always trying to find a way to balance my hormones and pms.About a year ago, my doctor did a urine test for neurotransmitters and I came up low in a few so he put me on some amino acids, one being 5HTP that I take at night. I rarely experience any depression symptoms anymore... I also take tyrosine and methionine (instead of SamE)I was on 2-3 drops of Lugol's since last May/June? and doing well except that I keep getting very high P and T on saliva tests. My e levels are great though but tested in Oct. and again in Dec. and especially day 21 is sky high. I can feel it too and I can hardly sit still or focus. Extreme agitation and my breast feel heavy. I have been cycling exactly on day 28 and once that week before my period is over and I start, then things are rosy again. I was told that it is possibly the Lugol's causing my P to be so high. So I am off temporarily but one thing that helps, or seems to help me, is 5000 mg. of biotin, which is suppose to help metabolize the high level of P.Oh, by the way, I am not taking any hormones at all since June. No E, P, T, DHEA. I was trying to detox some more and get my levels to come down.I got my idodine loading test back and it was at 50%. I had been on Lugol's for about four months or so. I felt really good on it so I wish I could figure out what is going on with my P levels. My doctor, on a telephone consult, thought it could be my body making P, and maybe I should get an ultra sound to check uterus.I see him on the 19th to go over everything. I only take 60mg. armour right now and supplements.Cedar fever has hit central Texas and it is sky high. If I take a couple mg. of vit C every few hours during the day, I am fine. I think it has to be an immune thing. Helps to double up on CLO too! I did NAET about three years ago and it helped so much. I should have gone in to get checked about a month ago.Sonii-- In rhythmicliving , "Lynn" wrote:>> I posted this to the iodine list but want to repeat it over here in> case anyone iodine loading is dealing with it.
