Guest guest
As has said, we have a few members from the UK. They'll likely chime in soon. Applying for benefits is difficult no matter what country you hail from. I volunteer as an advocate at Peer Support here in BC Canada. I'm thinking you might look for an organization ( Family Resource Centre ) that will help you with filling out the paperwork. That is key. You have to tell " them " what it's like on your worst day. Don't sugar-coat it in any way. Peer Support happens to work with people with a mental illness..depression, bi-polar, etc. but there has to be someone somewhere in your town who knows the ropes and can help you out. It may take making a few calls to some support organizations. I also facilitate a Chronic Pain and Depression group, and we help pretty much everyone that needs it. Keeping copies of ALL your medical files is another important item. As Marty said. You are entitled to copies of all your records as there is Freedom of Information legislature, here in Canada, and the UK. Okay, I'll shut up ...LOL...if there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to contact me off the list. The correct e-mail addy for the pamphlets is Oldgoat378@... ...hope I got it right. Take care, and keep in touch with the group. They are an amazing group of souls, who will inform, and uplift and empower you.
