Guest guest
Not all the doctors on " the list " are experts. I believe there is a disclaimer. These are doctors people have had experience with. I would tend to go with the doctors who are involved in organizations such as ASAP, CSF and I think there is another one. (Can someone help my terrible Chiari memory?) These doctors are involved because they have a special interest in Chiari. That usually means they are doing research. Having said that, even some of the experts will turn people down and sometimes we don't understand why. Suzanne Hill
Guest guest
I totally agree...we used a doctor on the list and it turned out to be a total nightmare for our son. After investigating further -after the surgeries and multiple complications, we found out that this particular doctor is definitely not a chiari expert at all...I think that it's also very important to get three opinions before making a decision on a surgeon...just my 2 cents... Guest guest
I want to clear up some stuff about our doctor list. First of all, there is a ton of disclaimer information and other info that describes how the list was obtained. Here is some of it: " Contacts are provided for some doctors listed here, they are shown after the doctors information and will say " Contact Me " . These Contacts are from people that have current experience with that particular doctor, and are willing to share it with you. Just click to email them and ask questions regarding their experience. This experience may be positive or negative. " " Just Because Doctors Are Shown On This Map Does Not Mean That All Doctors That Are Recommended By Members Are Considered Experts In The Field. Please Do Your Homework On Any Doctor On This Map, Contact Who Recommended Them (Where Available) And Also Do Your Own Homework. Remember That Those Who Recommended The Doctor May Have Had A Good Experience And Other Contacts Have Not Had A Good Experience. So, Please Do Your Own Homework, Ask Around, And Learn About The Doctor Before Going To That Particular Doctor To Get A Diagnosis Or Having Surgery. " If anyone has any questions about our list or the website in general, please do not hesitate to email me. Thanks, Chiari Experts Not all the doctors on " the list " are experts.
