Guest guest
Hello All, I hope everybody had a great holiday season! I will be seeing my Rheumy in the next month and I have some serious thoughts when it comes to medications and Still's. My Rheumy would like to put me on Methotroxate however I have had elevated Liver Markers and has shown up with a mild fatty liver on ultrasound. I had a liver biopsy last Tuesday. (not too bad) I will be seeing my GI doctor this Tuesday. Regardless of the biopsy results I wonder if Methotroxate is the right medication for me. I am slightly concerned that my GI doctor may not look at the whole picture and may aprpove MTX treatment when it really shouldn't be the treatment. Also MTX isn't good if you want to have children and seeing as I am 25yrs old and hoping to be married and start a family soon should a person really start something they know they will have to get off eventually anyways? My Rheumy says MTX first then try Kineret (last resort) however it seems like MTX is the more risky drug. Am I wrong? I am currently on Plaquenil and it to me isn't doing a darn thing. I've been on it for at least 2 months I know they say it can take up to 6 months but I would think I would be doing a little bit bettor. Now I guess I'm not spiking to 106 like I did back in October however I'm pretty sure I can thank the Prednisone for that not the Plaquenil. I haven't really no relief when it come to joint pain and stiffness at all. And my sore throats are starting to come back as well. Bettor/Worse than ever....I have to take a speech class in order to get my associates degree and I feel like I have razor blades in the back of my throat....lol not good for speech. And not to mention it has changed my whole entire voice which is just lovely. Oooh I also found my first few gray hairs today as well...I was so hoping I wouldn't follow in my mother and grandmother shoes.....(however that has nothing to do with Still's) ...sorry...lol So if there are any suggestions on Meds other types I know my GI mentioned taking auto-immune suppressant drugs he said there are alot out there. So was just wondering what others have been on and off of thanks. aka Jalee One in a Million
