Hi. Yeah. Is there a line of Yoga videos out there anyone would recommend?

I've never had a desire to do Yoga, but I think it would be something good to

go along with Tae Bo.

Also...any line of videos out there which use some weights with? I've always

wanted to find some.

I think I'm doing great. I'm eating pretty smart, doing great Tae Bo, and

mentally I feel great. This is great!

Oh by the way Carolyn, I love Canada soooooooo much! :-) Such a wonderful

country!

Talking about various workout videos reminds me. Being a guy and a fan of

tennis I anxiously awaited Kournikova's workout video, but unfortunately

it wasn't really a workout video and was geared towards more of the athlete

type. I really wish she would make a regular workout start to finish that

anyone could use.

Congratulations on #7 :)

I was wondering last night... Why am I not sore like I used to be when I was

doing tae bo a few years ago? I wonder if I'm not working out hard enough?

Because I'm definitely not in better shape now, than I was then. I'm just

not really feeling the burn kwim?

hi stephen - yes dont worry too much about taking a day off here and

there... you dont want to burn yourself out by jumping into an overly

strenuous schedule. personally i have my schedule set up so that i can

take off 1 or 2 days a week (right now i take off more than that actually)

but that is what im aiming for ... 5 days of workouts, 6 days if i can

manage it. listen to your body... if you are sore then dont do nothing,

but do a stretching routine (one that you can make up yourself or try some

yoga) instead of cardio today. really we all should vary our workouts so

that we get a balance of cardio, stretching and strength/resistance

training. so dont feel bad if you dont do cardio one day but do some

wonderful stretches instead... i feel that is what we are supposed to do!

ive used a few but you could always check out the 'for dummies...' series of

workout videos.

personally i use the living arts am/pm tapes but there are tons of others to

i use a tape by kathy smith called 'lift weights to lose weight' and i think

that it is fantastic. ive been doing it for quite a while now though so im

ready, in january, to do a firm tape called 'maximum body shaping'. 'for

dummies...' also has a strenth training tape which you can learn the 'daily

dozen' from and there are books that can show you various moves with

weights. also there are bands that you can buy and instruction to go with

Thanks :) It would be amazing if my body remembered the workouts after a

couple years & a baby!! You never know though. I will try to see if I can

focus a little more & if that doesn't work, maybe move on to an advanced once

in a while :) (not that the basic ones are easy while I'm doing them!!

lol)

is really really good when she is on, but she has sooooooooo many

matches when she just seems out of it. I believe she still has a lot of

potential.

oh boy! where should i start when talking about anna? ;)

i was just reading in oxygen magazine that her numerous and wealthy sponsors

are getting anxious because she is not performing well on the WTA tour

(winless since her 1995 debut on the WTA tour and ranked 37th with the

WTA -- 4 first round defeats this season). her marketability may be

coming to an end as sponsors dont want to be associated with over-paid stars

i wonder how long our bodies retain memory of past workouts. i mean, i had

this same experience when i started doing taebo again after a year break and

i thought then that perhaps my body had some remembrance of my first foray

into tae-bo and i wasnt getting the same results as before. sounds weird i

know but anything is possible i guess.

so anyway, to intensify your workout you need to really concentrate on your

form. focus! is what billy says. look at exactly where the impact of

your punches and kicks will be and visualize actually making contact with a

particular point. pick a spot on the wall or an object and try to place

your punches and kicks as if you could kick that spot/object if you wanted

to. your eyes should be on the point of impact (even though you are

punching and kicking air), not necessarily be on the tv.... you must watch

and pay attention to what you are doing. also, when you lift your knee to

kick or to do simple knee raises, lift it up to your belly button. also be

sure that you are breathing properly... breathe in with the pull, and out

with the push. counting the reps along with the crew will give your

workouts oomph by ensuring that you are breathing properly and will secure

your intention to punch or kick within your mind. also ensure that you are

using a full range of motion. for example dont just push your hand out when

your punch, but pull you elbow all the way back and then push it out to the

proper extension (which is not a full extension or a hyper-extension, of

course). also maintain form while you are doing balance moves... no

bouncing. there are lots of other tips that can help you.... see billys

book if possible.
