Hi Dena,

I would like to call Jim's doctor to request Hospice from Kaiser not from the

nh Hospice. I know that on weekends and holidays here, there is only a recording

when Kaiser is called to go to ER if there is an emergency and no way to contact

Jim's doctor since it is a recording on weekends and holidays. Is it the same in

S. CA?

I can never get past the recording on weekends and holidays. Do you know how I

can get hold of Jim's doctor to request Hospice to assess Jim at the nh on

weekends and holidays? I will have to wait until Tuesday if there is no way to

get his doctor's request for hospice. Do you know of a way? Jan

I am daugher of Leonard, diagnosed May 2004, probably had lbd since 1993,.Dad

had a serious fall in 7/05 causing him to hav hip surgery .After that he

developed aspiration pneumonia 7/05 with pulmonary embolyis, which he almost

died from. He had a 2nd bout of aspiration pneumonia and uti 8/05. He died when

his blood pressure fluctuations started dropping without coming back up on

9/25/05,

may he rest in peace with his mom and dad,

Jan, and Sharon,

I don't know about California and Kaiser, but she should be able to call Hospice

directly and they should be able to get hold of the MD.? Maybe? Just a

thought.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

Hi Donna,

When Jim was living at home, I called Hospice to come and assess Jim, but they

would not until a doctor's request was given to them and they had to wait for

the request to come through before coming to the house. I had also looked the

Hospice up in our area and Kaiser uses their own Hospice and the Hospice in the

area that I called refused to come, since we were with Kaiser. Jan

IS he at home? Take him to the emergency room and put him in the Hospital

Hospice. Let the Hospital get the MD>

Hi Donna,

Jim is at the nh. I want to call the doctor for a request for Hospice to

assess Jim and if he qualifies bring him home, but during weekends and holidays,

I can not get past the recording to go to ER if there is an emergency. No one

answers the phones on weekends and holidays it is a recording, so I can not

leave a message for the doctor. If I could get Jim into the car, I would bring

him to ER, but he can not stand anymore. Jan

Hi Jan

I hope you have received the message I left you on

your cell phone by now. I am sorry I have been very

busy this weekend and I have a cold and do not feel

much like sitting at the computer, sorry.

Hospice will be a help, but the NH should be able to

keep Jim comfortable until Tuesday. They can contact

the Dr that you never see and alert him. There is

always some one on call.

Jan I have read a few emails and my heart is breaking

for you. I will keep you in my prayers and I promise

to check my emails better too. If you need me just

email and I will call you or write. You probably have

my cell number, so feel free to call if you need me.

Side note: I just heard from Stevie and she is doing

okay. Loved Hawaii. See is writing about Mr.B.
