Guest guest Posted March 9, 2003 Report Share Posted March 9, 2003 Hi again: I had a request by a doctor to test my T4 and T3 levels years ago and the lab wouldn't test both - so they only tested the T4. Is there a difference between T4 and T3 and free T4 and free T3. My TSH and T4 tests come back normal with the thyroid I am on. But I have a suspision that my T3 levels are low - I will ask the doc to test them only next time. Many of you talk about taking extra T3 to boost T3 levels - is this a synthetic T3? I'm so confused with all this hormone stuff. I am so exhausted all the time - can't wake up kind of feeling. I think my adrenals are low. I'm on natural progesterone now for 1 month and have noticed no difference with the fatigue. I have edema which seems to be doing alot better. I think I need all the hormones DHEA, Pregnenalone, etc etc. I'm so confused. I asked the doctor to test my cortisol levels and she didn't put that down on the test. where do you think I should go from here.
