Guest guest
Hi Kirk, I also have the daily sore throats and often tested negative for strep but could not believe how bad my throat hurt. I also get fevers daily and am so fatigued I often take several days to get even a small project done. It is very frustrating to me also since I was so active and working also up to 80 hours a week and loving my job before I got sick with what is now called stills. I also feel that I have had this illness for many years without a diagnosis I could never do anything physical (i.e. working out or doing physical activity like sports) due to muscle and joint pain and fatigue and would have sore throats every couple of days with low grade fevers. Now I could not even keep a job due to sleep, pain, and fatigue issues also. I was diagnosed with celiac disease about 6 mo. before I was diagnosed with the stills I also have sleep apnea myofacial pain syndrome arthritis and diabetes. I am taking a pill called Januvia for my diabetes and have no side effects and feel great. Before the pill I felt so bad every day and also got headaches when my sugar was high but not anymore and I only check my blood sugar when I am not feeling good or once a week and my sugars were in the 200-300 range and now are in the low 100’s . I am on a fetanyl patch the lowest dose 12mcg/hr and it helps a lot I take naproxen for breakthrough pain and it helps. I cannot get my prednisone down below 5mg without a flare up though. Have you ever been to see a psychologist? They will listen and do not prescribe medications so they are aimed at helping you work through your issues without medication. Maybe your wife and kids can go so they can understand your illness better. I hope you will keep in contact with your stills family we understand and hopefully can help you in some way. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
