Guest guest
HI, I had told about my brother who had mengitis and was on life support in the last two weeks. It is amazing how he is doing and i get overwhelmed with so much negitive i forget to tell about the good things. I went to see him last week and was nerveous because i knew what i was going to see. I had a friend go to fresno with me, who knows me pretty well and has some medical knowledge. My brother was on the ventilator but was moving a lot. They said his respitory was to high and he failed the tests to come off yet. They said not to stimulate him to much because it agitated him, but he didnt seem agitated but seemed like he wanted to talk but couldnt because he kept moving his hands up and his feet, I just talked to him and rubbed his head and hands and tried to talk like he could hear me. I said a prayer to have him come off life support by morning and at 10 the next morning i had a call my brother had pulled his breathing tube off of himself and was breathing on his own. I went bac to see him and he was on a oxygen mask not really awake but responding correctly to everything i asked him by shaking his head yes and no. He kept taking his mask off so i told him to take a deep breath when he felt it itching his face. I told him it was his glasses and needed to keep them on. My friend told me when he would wake up, he would do it quick and just be awake. This occurred the next day and he improved so much he came home last sunday. What had happened is he was given an overdose of oxicotton when he had been sent home the first time, and suddenly developed toxic septis pheunominia. He is actually off the oxicotton after being on it for 2 or more years because he has 3 fracatured verterbre in his spine and severe osterprosis. I hope they dont restart it and help him with other ways of treatment. Joyce
