Guest guest
Hi There- New to this group- I think I may have posted once-- Question- anyone get or feel worse on Prednisone? I havent had a flare in 5 yrs at age 40-- until this August with an acute case (now chronic) of Iritis/Uveaitis-- Mostly the pred drops were working initially- but I still experienced eye pain- so the Rheumy gave me 15mg of prednisone-- which I've been on for 10 days- bumping now to 20mg after speaking to him.-- I feel worse since taking the prednisone- stiffer/achier/- everything is popping/snapping now (neck, back, ankles, fingers)-- up until this past year I had very little joint involvement. My rheumy is strongly suggesting Kineret or Enbrel- he handles a few Still's cases and believes in being proactive- that there is a steady progression of the disease even with little serological evidence. I have had Still's since Age 16- in 1981. It took over a year for a definitive diagnosis- a wonderful infectious md at Tufts (Sheldon Wolfe, rest in peace) spotted the classic rash during one of my cyclical fever flares- I started steroids after that until my mid-20s-- I was pretty good for almost 15 yrs. Guest guest
Hi Larry, You mentioned that you have a rheumatologist who treats a few cases. Any chance he/she might be near Providence, RI or even Boston, MA? Phyllis
