Guest guest
Hi my name is . I'm 29 years old, just starting my Masters Program in English and BAM! Strange neurological symptoms start to occur. It took me a while to figure out they were all symptoms of chiari. YOu see, I was accidentally diagnosed over 8 years ago after I was in a car accident. But after that, I didn't really have many symptoms, so I basically forgot about it. Well, this summer, the symptoms were out of control. I've had migraines my whole life, but I had never felt that kind of pain before. Shaking, blurred vision, dizziness. Some days I could barely even function. So, I finally had an MRI done and the neurologist said, " Yes, you definitely have a Chiari malformation and it looks farily severe. " He didn't know a lot about it, though, and referred me to a neaurosurgeon. Here's the thing: I don't have insurance. And the nurse at the neurosurgeon's office said that even if I did have insurance, most insurance companies count this surgery as elective surgery. So, what's the point in even meeting with neurosurgeon? Here's my other question: Have you guys ever experienced symptoms just during the summer and had them go away in cooler weather? I guess I'm just looking for some info. Thanks.
