Guest guest
I just joined the group because I've been increasingly unhappy with WP. I've been doing if for a year, and since I always do things 100% (sometimes to a fault)I've just been ignoring my exhaustion during luteal phase and continuing the high progesterone, " balancing " it with higher E2. Scary the amount of hormone I have in my system. My blood tests showed high SHBG a week ago (meaning my poor liver is busy trying to eliminate some of the excess hormone and is in the process also shutting down other good hormones like DHEA, HGH, etc.(My kindergarten understanding of what's going on...please corect me if anyone has a better description of SHBG's function) I am a mess. Don't have enough energy to leave the house to go to Yoga, which usually saves my life. I'm very discouraged because I believe our bodies will keep us younger with good hormones flowing, and hoped the WP was the answer. Apparetly not. I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR THIS GROUP for showing me that I shouldn't plow through and doing the thing where if it isn't working than just do it harder and more (definition of insanity). I will be watching to see the communal wisdom re: what to do next. For me, I think I will take a break from hormones for awhile and let me liver clear out the excess. Then will ease into much lower levels of E2 and Progesterone, cycling, perhaps as Schwarzbein suggests. Apparently Suzanne Somers is coming out with a new book soon, and will mention WP in it. I know she was a big fan of Schwarzbein, and wonder what she's up to now. I am currently taking DHEA sublingual drops and will be starting Testosterone.from Women's International Pharmacy.I hope that will keep some of my hormones going while I clear out the Progesterone overload. I am also taking milk thistle, dandelion tea, and SAMe for my poor old loyal liver. Since I am new, I haven't yet explored the website to see if there's a profile for members to fill out, but FYI I am a 64 year old (usually) energetic, workout and yoga afficionado, 5'8 " 135 pounds, still can turn heads kind of gal. Second a (happy) marriage to a man 7 years younger, I look 7 years younger than him , and (usually) have lots of zest for life,. I mean like not a couch potato or anything. So I really HATE THIS feeling like a slug and being depressed. By the way, I am also taking Wellbutrin, for depression. Thanks, group, and I will stay tuned.
