Guest guest
Hello everyone, I hope everybody has been doing good! I had dropped down to 5mg of pred a week ago but ever since I have my fevers and joint pain has worsen so I was told to start taking 10mg of pred a day for another month and hope that by then the plaquenil will have started working in my system. It is a low dose but I'm hoping this will not hurt my liver if I do have PBC explained below. I am getting a ultra-sound tomorrow morning hopefully there is no damage yet and they have caught just as it begins after all PBC usually starts at 35 and I am only 25. I know that a lot of people with AOSD have other auto-immune isssues as well so I wanted to say keep a watch out for it if you ever have had an AMA mitochondrial AB M2 done before especially if you are a woman disease is 9 out of 10 women. and often has no symptoms until there is damage already! (Warning: Rant in the following paragraph!)...lol I'm disappointed to say that I have allowed myself to get down, as for whatever reason I never expected that liver failure was a path that I could end up taking when I have been having joint pain and fevers. I already had hard enough time explaining AOSD now I'm scrambling to explain 2 diseases that I don't even understand. My own father told me to stay away from Dr.'s that they are just lying to get your money. Said he's an alcoholic and his liver is fine. He's is dumb but I allowed him to get to me and I finally had enough and will be having nothing to do with him unless he gets help. (Sorry for the little rant but I've feel so alone sometimes) I just wanted to say that I was finally able to get a Dr. appt. sooner for the possibility that I have the auto-immune disease called Primary Biliary Cirrhosis in addition to the AOSD. Originally I wasn't going to be able to get into the Dr. Until Jan. 11th However I was able to get my Ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning and the GI appt. Dec 14th. Luckily b/f my next vacation. PBC is auto-immune disorder that affect the bile ducts of your liver and leads to liver cirrhosis and failure. I've been trying so hard to check all information I can find. But so far it sounds like If you test positive for this AMA titer of the M2 variety. It is specifically only there if you have this disease. However the M1 - M9 variety can be something people with lupus and RA plus other connective tissue diseases. Some of the symptoms are very similar to some parts of Still's it also an auto-immune disorder that is usually put into place because of another auto-immune disorder. It causes hi liver function and it can also caused unexplained itching all over the body not necessarily with a rash.
