Guest guest
hi, pain meds are an issue and my mom who has been diagnosed with rehumatoid arthritis for the last twenty five yrs and has had many broken bones, fell the other day. her right shoulder is what they said in pieces and her elbow is fractered too. in the er she seemed fine mind wise untill they pumped her up on pain meds till she was incoherent for days. they released her from the hospital to a rehab center with her urine dark ash colored and were giveing her morphine (listed on board as anytime) they arent doing surery and her arm is in a sling---because she was released they didn resume any physical theropy for the last three days and they only do it if she wants to. i told them to get her off the vicodin and they better see why her uriine is so dark.which they had switched her to and cant take because it makes her out of her mind as does many of the meds. they cut it down and she sounds better but they arent getting her to move. her reg pcp doumps her while she is in the rehab center and the dr there dosent know her or care in my opinion. My son in laws mom whom was jennifers husband, (my daughter we lost to complication of chiari) works there so she tells me what is going on and insuranse is the control factor in her care and most of the patients there. i told them id sue if they didnt get her care in order. the maginesium im going to tell ask about. my mom hashad broken bones all over her body i cant see how she has survrived this way. she was even driving last week. i just know to much pain meds inhibit her recovery as she wont want to try to get better, she just want to lay there. also my daughter who has had the low blood pressure, lately is a bit higher but goes bac down.f her dr did order an mri which was (delayed for further notes) as no cause is known going by the cardilogist, even though she has a first degree heart block. and some sinus arrithmia v-rate variation and she has a pfo with left to right flow and right to left flow-- her cardilogist is not doing his job to not follow her as he says it isnt her heart causing her low pressure, i agree possible it is from her chiari, but the pfo could pose a problem, they didnt measure it as the pediatric dr told me he said hers opens and closes. I asked more questions why he didnt measure it and he ended up hanging up on me and i was not rude, just askeing why he wouldnt measure it. i wrote him a note as to his unprofessional behaviour. i was not rude in the note but very harsh as to his actions as a dr. havnt heard bac of course. thanks, joyce
