Guest guest
I wanted to say something about adrenal support - low dose cortesol. How I have always know it to was this: Adrenal support - 1/2 the cortesol that healthy adrenals would prodouce daily. 20mg natural cortesol (Cortef) dosed 5mg 4 times a day, OR time release synthetic cortesol called prednisolone (deltacortril) dosed 5mg once a day. If one takes 20mg cortesol and has healthy adrenals, those healthy adrenals would simply not produce that 20mg of cortesol. If you took 0 cortesol, the adrenals would produce 40mg. If you took 10mg cortesol, the adrenals would produce 30mg. If you took 30mg, the adrenals would only produce 10mg. See? If one takes less that 40mg, it's not going to build " on " to what the adrenals are already making. See? It's when one takes the equivalent of, or more than what adrenals make daily that the problems start. Understand? (this is in reference to the message Atlanta was replying to) That's all I wanted to say. You may benefit from adding it at a certain time of day when it's low, I don't know. Hydrocortisone only stays in the body for 1 - 4 hrs. But my doctor doesn't use hydrocortisone with women that have hair loss because it creates such fluctuations of cortisol levels and that causes hair loss. For those of us with hair loss that need cortisol supplementation, he uses dexamethasone as a first choice. It is synthetic and has a half life of 36 - 54 hrs. so it gives stable levels. Anyway, with hair loss, you're right not to play around with cortisol until you've got some good guidance on what's right for you. >>>>>>>> ,... this is very informative here. Thanks for the explainations. Can you tell me why Jace doesn't use raw adrenals over the Dex?
