Guest guest
I thought I'd write the list with my answer. I've had a neurostimulator since May last year. My headaches have always been an issue. The stimulator runs up the back of my skull. It helps tremendously. The rest of the hardware runs down my side and ends with a batter pack on my hip. I didn't realize how much it does help until I forgot to charge it and I woke during the night with a horrible headache. It is a draw back not being able to have MRI's. Mine is a Medtronic and the rep said they are working on one that will be MRI friendly. When I first had the stimulator I had the hardest time charging, but I've become used to it and don't sit and say choice words. Due to the stimulator, I have been able to lower my pain medication use. I still get headaches on top of my head, and occasionally all over my head. The surgeon that did my stimulator did a trial run first. The battery pack wasn't implanted. I used it like that for 3 days to see if it helped my pain, and it did so he implanted the whole thing. Good luck and if you decide to get one, I hope you have as much relief as I have. Kathleen It has been a long time since Iv posted, and I THINK I may have already asked this befor, but I can remember what was said. So Im sorry if this is the same old thing, but I soooo need some info. My pain Doctor wants to do a neurostimulator to help with the pain. I just would like to know if anyone has had a neurostimulator put in, and what kind of results have you had? I am concerned that this will be worth the risk, and not being able to have MRI's. I also worry that it will make things worse. I have had very bad pain for a few years, and the pain medication isnt covering all the pain. I am taking Morphine CR 30mg, 3 times a day, and Dilaudid 8 mg for breakthrew pain. usually 3 doses a day, and Soma 350 mg 2 times a day. So needless to say I want off some of the meds. I dont like taking so much medication, but I have 2 children that need me, and in NO way have I been able to be there for them, and am in bed always, So the Neurostimulator seems like the right choice, but I just want to hear any pros and cons you have found? Any info would be greatly sppretiated. Thank you all so much!!!! ACM 1 15MM Decompressed 2006 tethered cord 2007
