Guest guest
It's been a while and I wish I had some good news(pretty sad when good news means bad news to the rest of the world). I am still searching for what is wrong with me. The psychiatric counseling is going good and costing me a small fortune not to mention my out of town trip for neurosurgery consult. Still out or should say unable to work. After my trip I have pretty much exhausted my savings and now more so than ever I have no idea where else to go. The psychologist is great for getting stuff off my chest, but doesn't help one bit with the pain or other symptoms. As I try and find the strength to contInue this battle I wanted to ask a few questions. 1. What does a congenital syrinx or persistent central canal look like? 2. Is there an average sIze? Like 2mmx15mm? 3. What does a post traumatic syrinx look like and what size before it causes symptoms? 4. Would a congenital syrInx or persistent central canal change in size? From month to month. 4. Can a congenital syrinx become symptomatic? And if so at what size? If the spinal canal is 10mm and you have a syrinx that is 5mm , that's a 50% blockage. If the normal people have 100% Csf flow at what % blocked flow would you have problems? Why would a 50% blockage not cause problems and why would it matter if it's congenital ,post traumatic or idiopathic. It seems as though blockage is blockage and wouldn't blockage of the flow of Csf cause problems? There was a post last week from a member that was on dark times. I hope she is finding the strength she needs to keep fighting. I would guess we all feel that. I heard somewhere that it takes six years for a proper diagnosis. I am a little over 2 years in and I don't know if I can make it the required time. In my life everyone is affected, my wife, my son, my friends. None of them can help me physically. You feel like a failure because you can't support your family, you Plead to god to help you, but honestly the only place I have found any support is here. So thank you all. I usually keep my prayers private, but I will pray this: lord, please bring light to those in the dark, bring hope to those who are lost, help to educate the doctors we see to help end the suffering that so many of us have, especially the children and bless the people of this group that give their time to help others. Sincerely, Tom
