Guest guest
Hey Michele, My name is also, I put the initial of my last name so people do not get confused. Glad you found us, this is a great group, they will listen when you need to vent , or just be there when you are down. Everyone has different degrees of Still's, they say no 2 Still's patients are a like. I am an ER physician, but had to stop practicing almost 2 years now. Still's started in my organs first also, so I am minus a stomach, some intestines, spleen, gallbladder, and appendix. Not much more they can take out, I am also fixing to start my second round of chemotherapy as soon as my medicines get approved. I have a medicine induced Lymphoma. Still's has made its way into my joints and muscles now, it is always something, lol How well does your new liver handle your Still's flares? Again welcome to the group, take care R. ________________________________ To: Stillsdisease Sent: Thu, September 9, 2010 12:39:30 PM Subject: Still's Patient New to the Group  Hello, My name is Michele and after 10 years of health issues I was diagnosed with Still’s. My first attack was in 2000 and it inflamed my internal organs 3 times their normal size. I recovered in 2 years and was then surprised with acute liver failure in 2005. I am one of the lucky few to have received a liver transplant, and was thriving up until my recent flare up of Still’s in June. I am very happy to have found this group and look forward to learning all I can about how everyone copes with the challenges that this disease brings with it. Sincerely, Michele from NJ
Guest guest
Hi Marty, Thanks for the warm welcome. I am a big believer in the healing power of laughter and love a good joke. My daily goal is to do at least one fun thing that makes me smile or laugh. Guest guest
Hi , I had no idea that Still's could impact other organs besides the liver. I guess all parts are unfortunately fair game with this crazy illness. My new liver did well the first 2 months of my current flare, but recent blood work shows elevated enzymes. I have an appointment tomorrow with the Hepatologist and am hoping all this means is a little medication teak of my immuno-suppressant meds. If I'm lucky the meds will put everything back in check. Time for me to get some light exercise in. Hope you have a good day.
