I am wondering if the medication was for something else that co-existed with the AS like depression or anxiety which is considered a mental health issue?

I am taking a HIV/Aids class and the teacher who is also a liscensed therapist was saying that many times due to system problems when a person gets dx. with HIV or Aids, the system and some professionals see that as the MAIN label and associate everything with it as oppose to doing a mental health screen and other assessments at the same time to either rule out or explain other behavior?

I am wondering if that is how some professsionals see AS and why AS is often associated with other behavior that has nothing to do with AS???? Just thinking out loud.
