Guest guest
Eyes! Bea Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry CSF Leak without surgery " The literature " says in CSF leaks, fluid usually drips out the ears or nose. Logic says it could also go down the back of the throat, like post-nasal drip. Has anyone had it drip out anywhere else?
Guest guest
Yes I had them all: in my nose, in my ear, in my lumbar region, in my lungs, all at the same time. Just one was because of surgery, the lumbar one and then because of a lumbar puncture, but the rest of them were just natural. Before decompression surgery I had so much High intracranial hypertension that I had 5 leaks at the same time I did not know why I had so many headaches, but I just lived with caffeine, this worked great. I still have one in my nose. Date: Sun, 13 Nov 2011 22:18:13 -0000 To: < > Subject: CSF Leak without surgery " The literature " says in CSF leaks, fluid usually drips out the ears or nose. Guest guest
So, could you please describe this ... How long did the dripping out last? How did your eyes feel and look while it was coming out? What was the fluid color and consistency? --- mrsbrendayung wrote: > Eyes! > Bea > > -----Original Message----- > " The literature " says in CSF leaks, fluid usually drips out the ears or nose. Guest guest
It doesn't have to leak out the nose or ears. I (most likely) have a leak low in the lumbar area and haven't had any CSF come out my nose or back of the throat. I'd imagine it would be reabsorbed through some of the membranes in the spinal canal. If you have severe headaches that come and go quickly and change with a change of position, then you probably have low ICP headaches. That's exactly what I have and it's horrid when bad. Pills that have caffeine in them really help me... > Eyes! > Bea > > -----Original Message----- > " The literature " says in CSF leaks, fluid usually drips out the ears or nose. Guest guest
In the past I had CSF leaks in my nose, ears, thoracic spine and lumbar spine, all of them at the same time, just drops, ad a result I had water coming from my nose, water coming from my ear, water in my lungs too!!! So I think you can have it anywhere with out a surgery is a normal way of dealing with high ICP. Guest guest
You don't necessarily have to have high ICP to have CSF leaks. I've been decompressed and do not have high ICP and have CSF leaks (albeit from EDS...). I do have some post-nasal drip that isn't mucus (no nose problems). Maybe it's CSF? I know they can test for it...hmm. Interesting. > Eyes! > Bea > > -----Original Message----- > " The literature " says in CSF leaks, fluid usually drips out the ears or nose.
