Guest guest
Hi ,Congrats on getting SSI! It's always a relief when it is ok'd.I am only on SSDI and everything is mostly paid for.Dr's visits many tests, I am not sure, but I think you will get a medicare card in the mail and that's what you show in place of an insurance card. The bills you do receive will have most of what is done covered by Medicare. If you used an atty. ask him/her if they filed for Medicare parts A and B?If you didn't, call social security and tell them you need it because you are disabled and you have SSI.As far a meds go,you will have to call around and find one you can afford,my husband is in the process now of choosing one for me.He said so far Blue Cross/Blue Shield had the best coverage for the money.I live in Michigan, but the state doesn't matter because SSI is federally run.I hope this helps some. You can write me if you have any more questions. love Elly
