Hi everyone,I have had a terrible time trying to get my sugar under control! I

was on Predisone for 7 years and off for about 3! I developed Type2 Diabetes

this year! I was only on the pills and diet for about 4 months and at first it

was great. Now I have been put on the shots of insulin plus 1,000 mg. twice a day

of Metforman sp? This was started 3 weeks ago and that too helped at first! Now

we can't control it again and today I was put on 15 mg. of insulin. Now I think

one or more of my other meds,( which are at least 30 pills a day) are not

getting the message right away, so they work for a little while, then they catch

on and start working against the insulin! What am I supposed to do about that? I

have a call into my Rheumy to see if he can figure it out. Sorry I couldn't be

more help.

Elly,

I have the same problem with my blood sugars especially with the prednisone

causing my blood sugar to go up. I am taking Januvia 100mg a day and I am

running low 100's. They were going to start me on insulin if this did not work

I have been on many different ones and they would work for a while or the side

effects would cause me to have to stop . I was in the high 200's-mid 300's

before Januvia I am very happy. Have you ever been to an endocrinologist? They

are a specialty and maybe have a little more experience with hard to control

blood sugars? Best of luck.

I know you see a lot of doctors already like most of us but I hope that your

seeing a specialist for your Diabetes . I know my dad had a doctor that was

about all he handled and if he could not then dad saw a endocrinologist. They

were always his first line for his Diabetes and then the others for the other

things like his cancer and stuff later. I know when I became a Diabetic from the

steroids back in Idaho if it would have lasted any longer then it did I was

going to start to see a diabetes doctor besides my RA , GP and Hemo docs back

then. just a thought but I also know that yes our meds can play tricks on up big

time. I do not fight it now but boy did I at first only I did not know it back

then tell after all the problems came and went and I could finally look back

with 20 / 20 hind sight . funny how its always so much clearer that way LOL

any hoot my best to ya
