Guest guest
Boy they spread your grandchildren out if you have 2 greats! And you haven't found any boys yet? My 3 boys all had girls and we never thought we would have a boy. Then my daughter had a boy. That made my sons mad! We did finally get a step-G-son but we only have one boy and he doesn't carry the family name because my daughter took her husband's name. I am proud of mine to Eileen. No greats yet thought. Guest guest
Boys are the ones that determine the sex of a baby. I heard a very ugly remark about it when I has young. Something on the gist of the men having too much of a good thing, and in turn removing the sex of male from boys. Terrible! I heard it because I had three girls first, before having a boy. Then of course I had another girl and another boy. Six children. I have 14 grandchildren, 15 counting the little one that died. I have 6 great grandchildren. Don has 7 grandchildren, and 6 great granchildren. Counting 21 grandchildren together Yet, I always count the deceased baby out of respect to the parents which make 22 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. I can hardly keep up anymore. You don't have many years on me, if any. There must be all sort of myths out there, because I heard it was Mothers fault! Guess both were there while it was happening! Guest guest
Donna, I was 19 1/2 when my first was born. 20 1/2 with the second, 21 1/2 with the third and so on, until all six were here. They were all born in six and a half years. I ran a nursery with them, with a house full of love. They were so much joy. I certainly learned to organize in a big way. I worked when the chilren were older, but I also squeezed in some college. No one has led a more active life. Now it's time to rest, but my beloved husband has LBD. I am glad I can still care for him, though. You can see my children when they were young on the photo site. Guest guest
I was very strong, and thin. Sometimes it was difficult to get to the hospital on time my babies came so fast. I was built to have babies. Large hips. But, don't kid yourself it was hard. It was my husband's idea, to have six very fast, but after I gave him what he wanted I did something about it. I said, " no more. " Four girls and two boys. Imogene In a message dated 12/9/2006 11:38:44 PM Central Standard Time, twomido@... writes: Imogene, All I can say is, " Oh, dear! Guest guest
OH, and Donna, My MIL said there was no way I could love that many. Little did she know that love knows no bounds. Also, I was very active, and organized. I have a wonderful family. Imogene In a message dated 12/9/2006 11:38:44 PM Central Standard Time, twomido@... writes: Imogene, All I can say is, " Oh, dear! Guest guest
My MIL always wanted only the oldest daughter to visit. I saw what was happening and told her to have the children take turns to visit. She couldn't seem to handle it, but she had love. Just a different way of showing it, I guess. But, I learned to love her very much. She was a second mother to me. Her son had big problems with having a lack of love. Guest guest
That part is very true. At one time we lived on a farm. It had an out house, water only in a spring that I had to haul up the hill by cranking up a bucket with a rope. I had a washer with a wringer, and hung my clothes out to dry. I took care of seven goats, a cow to milk, and three pigs. At that time I had three babies and the fourth was on the way. He wanted to have a large family so that he could be a patriarch. It didn't work. I would have the washer going in the kitchen, and my arms up to my elbows doing a pile of dirty dishes. I would hear a holler from the living room, " Imogene fix me a sandwich. " Or, " Imogene come in here and take care of this baby, she's wet. " He hated to be hugged or kissed. Just scolding and hollered at. Can you guess why I eventually divorced him? And, why I am so thankful for the wonderful man I have had now for 36 years? Imogene In a message dated 12/10/2006 12:21:44 AM Central Standard Time, twomido@... writes: That was a good idea you had, Imogene. The " No more. " He didn't have to have them!
