I know several people who either stopped their antidepressants abruptly or

tapered off without consulting doctors. All of them crashed badly. I don't

know specifically about Paxil, but I believe there is a specific protocol

for stopping. Have you considered talking to the prescribing doctor?

I was on Paxil previously, and was taken off of it. My doctor had me

go off of it in very small steps, over the course of two weeks, to

where I was taken a half dosage every other day the last few days. It

is a drug one needs to be very careful going off of. You should

definitely get in touch with your doctor to find out exactly how you

should get off this med.

Hello ! I t hink you are answering me. Well, it's my neuro who prescribed it for me, at my request. I will actually ask him about this but wanted to get some input from people here , as I said, my neuro is ok but sometimes I think he doesnt put enought thought into some of the instructions he gives and I wanted to be moreknowledgeable before I embark on any advice of his regarding tapering off from paxil.
