All-

Which labs have the best chance of success in finding

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) / Human herpesvirus 4 (HHV-4)

CMV Cytomegalovirus

HHV6 Human Herpes Virus Six

HSV1 Herpes Simplex Virus

HSVII Herpes Simplex Virus

Is there one lab that tests them all?

And let me know if there is any virus I missed mentioning.

Thanks,

~zeph

Suzan, Zeph,

I did the viral panel with ImmunoSciences a few years ago. The Labs later was acquired by NeuroSciences, which now offers two viral tests:

Viral Screen Profile:

EBV Profile:

-Hi Zeph-

I also wanted to add, that starting this year, all panels from Neuroscience are

billed through Pharmasan labs which takes insurance. If you have BCBS, they are

an in-network provider.

Used to be that half of their panels were run through Neuroscience labs and the

other half through Pharmasan. At the start of 2009, they did away with many of

their panels (unfortunately because I used to run a lot of them), but the one's

that reamain are all run and billed through Pharmasan. check you insurance, you

may get covered.

you may want to check Redlabs http://www.redlabs.com/ - they do

commercial tests but also are actually conducting a study on viruses in

autism - not sure if still recruiting. contact this person

Marguerite.Ross@...

also check on NIDS website which viruses they check for

http://www.nids.net/labtests.htm

A good guide to different types of viral tests and their usefulness

http://www.vicd.info/testing.html

btw this novel one - RNase L by Redlabs could turn out to be relevant in

autism:
