Guest guest
Listen - who CARES who prescribes? As long as we get it! It is about natural HORMONES after all. And compounders know more than doctors in this case! > > > It will be interesting to see how you get on with > > it. Guest guest
I would think that oral has to go thru the entire digestive system to fianlly get into the bloodstream....vaginal is like when we dissolve our thyroid meds in our mouth or troches...it goes through the mucous membranes and right into the bloodstream, bypassing the first pass thru the liver and the digestive system, and therefore we don't lose as much with vaginal > Well, at least in the US, 100 mg Prometrium is meant for daily oral use. > Oral and vaginal may have different absorption rates. > > Val > > -----Original Message----- > From: rhythmicliving > [mailto:rhythmicliving ]On Behalf Of cbwillis9 > > > > Prometrium has never been manufactured in less than 100 mg strength. > > > > Val > > Possibly because that's the minimum amount considered > to protect the uterus when also using estrogen in HRT. Plus, it is unusual for a pharma company to create a bio-identical progesterone...maybe at some point they will come out with different strengths...or maybe not. for bio-identicals..I still generally trust compounders more than drug companies, although if it is not syntethic, it's not. Guest guest
Wish I knew why the hell my old gyno never gave any of it to ME! He gave me Aygestin - and I bled more and more. > In a message dated 9/17/2005 5:13:45 PM Mountain Standard Time, > Astrodiana@c... writes: > can understand the high incidence of hysterectomies performed - not > because of cancer - just fibroids, or endometriosis that wouldn't yield > to any treatment > Thank God for the new devices that deliver P right to the uterine lining. > They have had fair luck with the fibroids and endometriosis with them and > medicated IUD's are very much researched right now and will be available to market > around 2006-2007. > Sammie
