Michele:

If Caitlyn were healthy.....

I would not have quit my job to take care of her full time. We really

needed two incomes to get by but with all of her illnesses, my desk was

usually vacant, my work piling up, my clients complaining...so I

eventually couldn't afford to not quit.

But anyway, if she were healthy, and me working I would only see my

precious daughter a couple of hours a night before sending her to bed

and that is not nearly enough to satisfy me. When I was little I always

knew I wanted to be a full time mom. So I consider it a blessing that

she was so ill that I couldn't afford to keep working. Besides, after

reading the plaque on my wall (100 years from now...) I decided that I

wouldn't remember all the things I had bought with the second income and

if I quit, we certainly would never be homeless or hungry and nothing

else mattered. Every day I'm with Caitlyn I remember that I'm sharing

her days with her because she's sick. (That doesn't mean that I don't

have pity parties for myself once a week too.)

It's good to be back. I relate to so much that you share.
