Guest guest
No I guess not. So soy is counterproductive to thyroid. Then I don't know why any doctor would authorize its use. > > > > > > > > > Someone here or on 's list mentioned this > > was her favorite > > book on > > > HRT, I am not sure, but I ordered it immediately! > > (Thank you, and > > if you are > > > here tell me who you are!) > > > > > > Now I am almost finished with what will be MY new > > favorite book on > > HRT, > > > along with the Shame' new book. > > > > > > > > > > > > Discover Your Menopause Type, by ph , > > ND > > > > > > The exciting new program that identifies the 12 > > unique Menopause > > types and > > > the Best Choices for You. > > > > > > > > > > > > Back cover reads: > > > > > > Take Charge of Your Menopause! > > > > > > > > > > > > This groundbreaking book- the first to reveal 12 > > distinct > > menopause types > > > and how best to treat each > > > > > > -gives you the information you need to take charge > > of this > > challenging and > > > sensitive life stage. > > > > > > Inside, Dr. ph demolishes the " one > > size fits all " > > philosophy of > > > menopause treatment. > > > > > > Revealing that there is no magic hormone or > > combination of > > hormones that > > > can be indiscriminately prescribed to all women. > > > > > > > > > > > > Inside, You'll discover: > > > > > > Natural & conventional treatments that are best > > for you. Guest guest
One of the " life's little lessons " I have learned over the past few years is the astounding discovery that, geez....I am stunned at things that most doctors' do NOT know. I mean, here I am, a lowly patient...how come I know, from several different confirmed sources, that soy blocks estrogen. Huh? I mean, I'M not a medical professional, that's the DOC'S business to know these things. Not. But we grew up thinking that doctors, like pastors or priests, or all the other " big grown ups " knew more than we little people did. I could, myself, write a book about the last six months of my travels through half dozen specialist's clinics, including the Mayo Clinic. AT some point, it began to dawn on me that often I was coming into the appointment knowing more about current understanding than the doc himself had!! Now THAT is quite an epiphany!! Please understand, I am no where near saying that physicians are not walking wonders of medical education and ability. I could not hold a candle to their intellectual ability. But we are talking here about another type of essence - a knowledge and understanding and wisdom that goes beyond mere intellect. And they are not gods, they do not all have time to keep up, and often they do not care to do so! As with all things in life, I have found that the quality is in the very small minority. Carolyn p.s. Shoman is one place of thyroid info per soy, and the Vliet book is another. I have no doubt that there are many many more if one cared to research. The burden of due diligence will always rest on the shoulders of the patient. --- wrote: > No I guess not. So soy is counterproductive to > thyroid. Guest guest
Thank you Val!! I am not sure if it is my P-Brain full of toxic overload...or the fact that some really difficult family circumstances just landed in our lap today, this very morning, as parents!! You know, life seemed, by comparison, so easy when the children were small, and we would go to see them in their sweet school plays. Now they are middle aged, with children of their own, with middled aged crises....and it seems to be even more difficult, now, to be a parent with a child going through a mid-life crisis. (Hey, maybe she just needs some E after her hysterectomy?? Sorry, I am really just very tongue-in-cheek here! We female " elder of the tribes " need to have our OWN act together very well, do we not...so that we are able to be calm and wise role models for the next generation. Guest guest
Just remember that half of the physicians, NDs, nutritionists, nurses, etc., graduated in the bottom half of their classes. Val Val: I have worked around a lot of physicians and hospital personnel and I sure can vouch for that. A lot of these MD's barely made it through medical school and really have no idea how the human body works in synergy. They are cook book physicians. Guest guest
Val...hard to describe how validating that statement is for most of our experiences, as well! Thank you..
