Guest guest
This sounds very familiar! Not in my children, but in my younger sister who has Down Syndrome and many autistic characteristics. She has struggled with very bad boils, exactly like you describe, usually on the backs of her legs, bum and groin area. She has scars from some of them. I have often wondered what we could do to help her with this... Sheri > > Is anyone dealing with boils? We have been struggling for YEARS with this problem for our daughter. I really can't seem to track the pattern. We recently had to do a whole work up for strep anibodies because she had boils co-occuring with out of range kidney function and the presence of casts in her urine. Glomerularnephritis was ruled out... > > We have had a series of boils one after the other in the last couple of months, all on the legs/bum. some are small, some are quite large and painful. Guest guest
I have friends who have had this problem systemically. For them, it was Staph. The problem was that the sores broke out about every 2 weeks, like clockwork. Even though Homeopathic Nosodes (Staphylotoxinum) & Pyrogenium would clear it and it would heal, it would break out again. One day, after praying about it, I took my kids to the movies, and sat out in the lobby pouring over Old Homeopathic Journals. I found one that compared all the Septic remedies, and found that the one that was compared to Pyrogenium but that had a keynote of repetitious breakout of boils was _ Anthraxicum. It's keynote was that it had repeated breakouts of boils. After a dose of 200C of Anthraxicum, the boy did not break out again. It's been over 2 1/2 years. Prior to this, it was at least twice monthly or more... for 3- 4 years or so... I consider this a miracle. I will say for those who are afraid of this type of thing..... LIKE cures Like. Not the same thing, but like. Meaning that a person wouldn't have to have Anthrax, but would have a major symptoms of it, for this remedy to be THE remedy that took cared of the situation. It's the energetic picture of the remedy..... not the exact bacteria.... we're talking about. Guest guest
Hi Maggie,A good layman's book for acutes is Alan Schmukler's "Homeopathy A to Z Handbook". If you look in it alphabetically for boils it will tell you to go to abscess and under abscess it will further describe around 10 pertinent remedies including an additional sub-section on boils that threaten to become septic. There are 4 remedies described in the septic section: Lachesis, Anthracinum, Pyrogenium and Arsenicum. Anthracinum has the description that there is a succession of boils. If possible, it's always good to cross-reference all of your materia media and journals to be sure which remedy best fits the symptom picture. Food for thought is that your son likely needs correct constitutional prescribing and the boils will be part of the cure along with the bigger picture. If you live near Mumbai, perhaps you could try to bring your son to see Paresh Vesani (a good classical homeopath).Regards,Lydia > >> > > >> > Is anyone dealing with boils? Guest guest
Hi Maggie, My toddler used to have recurrent boils all the time when he was younger, from about 8 mths of age. We used to go to the pediatrician and she would lacerate it, remove the pus and they did send the sample for testing and it was found to be staph. He was on antibiotics every time, and then he would get better immeidately. But I wasn;t happy with giving antibiotics and in my search, I realized that MANUKA honey is supposed to be very good for this problem. You ca try that. Ultimately the thing that completely resolved his boils issue in a matter of a month was giving him Ayurvedic medicine/cream; My mom got it from an ayurvedic doctor in India (in bombay) and sent it to me. Perhaps you could try to find some ayurvedic doctor in your area to help with this or I would be happy to share this doctor;s details with you if needed.... Rohini > > Is anyone dealing with boils? Guest guest
You can access all the Materia Medicas online here. http://www.homeoint.org/english/index.htm Maggie it doesn't matter if its staph or strep, the symptom is repetition of breakouts and so the remedy should work. I also wouldn't put anything on the boils. Hard as it seems to avoid doing that, it does drive the infection inwards. My son get his asthma cough, his ears go red. I thought my calendula/ echinacea cream was harmless but it did have the opposite effect. Plain calendula might work however, they were out when I ordered it and unfortunately I said yes to this combo. Wish I hadn't. Ruby really interesting about the Anthraxicum. My son has these come up from time to time too and I will give that a shot. Gayatri > > >> > > > >> > Is anyone dealing with boils?
