Guest guest Posted August 18, 2010 Report Share Posted August 18, 2010 Maddy is still in the hospital. Neurosurgery has yet to come by and we have been here 2 days. Pediatrician came by and said she grew gram negative bacteria rods,so they want to wait another day to see what they are dealing with,but she is still on 2 antibiotics. She is still not getting any pain relief. I asked peds and he said she looks fine and to not prompt her about her pain. The nurses here have been manipulating Maddy so much,makes me angry.They lost her chart. They ignore anything I say. I even called a patient rep and it made things worse. I am very suspicious because she had a " line infection " a couple years ago,but they treated with one antibiotic,we were here 36 hrs and she has no headache,fever,etc. I have a hunch this is shunt related such as a shunt infection.
