Kinda overwhelmed

Hi all-

Good posts on the I am Autism video...I have some strong feelings in response but too doggone tired trying to survive this week to get into the fray. I enjoyed reading some articles/posts out there. Thanks for the links.

As to "overwhelmed", I am now dealing with the fact that even after begging hubby to make plans to get some type of entry-level job and an inexpensive subsidized apartment, he has now been homeless for five nights, sleeping in our family mini-van.

A quick backstory for those on this list who don't know my circumstances, I am AS, married 18 1/2 years to my more profoundly affected AS hubby, 3 AS kids at home.

After 9 years of his refusing to go on a job interview, we are in serious financial trouble, foreclosure, lack of medicine, food, basics, etc. Meanwhile, I am working at four part-time jobs while going to school to complete my first bachelor's degree.

I notified him months ago that I would be legally separating and he would be moving out--he did nothing to prepare. I first told him of this two years ago.

Now he is sleeping in parking lots, and I am not going to let him back in the house because he has been ultra inappropriate around our kids, and in his behavior toward me.

Rescue -wise, there are no services in our city...this is hard, but my sanity and security are needed in order to maintain some stability and structure for our kids, and I can't manage any longer to absorb the extreme moods, irresponsibility, even sadly, the manipulation that hubby has been engaging in.

I'm not looking for a cheerleading squad here, but as an AS having to be tough and enforce accountable boundaries with another AS adult, I'm feeling super crushed right now.

Meanwhile, I am continuing to engage in extreme risk-taking by developing myself into a late-bloomer who can provide for my family and create something viable that will help others and pay my bills, using my skills and talents.

This is the hardest thing I have ever done--really facing some giants in my own AS experience.

Thanks for listening--

Sharon -AS and shaking in my boots right now
