Guest guest
Does anyone have info on experiences, data, research, observation, ideas on yam-based hormones in regards to side effects, reactions, allergies, all-manner of unique individual responses? (FYI: WP hormones are derived from yams. Has anyone thought or deduced any theories about yam-based hormones and their experience w/them as opposed to other hormones derived from, say, soy or non-plant derived sources of estrogens and progestergens? My line of thought here is to my own 'allergic' reaction to the WP creams, still not knowing if it is/was the base cream ingredients, the yam-derived hormones, P in general, or E in general, or P or E in a topical fat base cream, or the way my body uptook or didn't uptake the P or the E, or what my body turned the P or the E INTO in my body, or of course the possibility that the WP was the last straw on my own camel's ticking timebomb back and that I had other issues to begin with. I won't comment on my favorite theories here. Mostly wanting to know if any of us have explored the yam-base allergy/reaction idea? Maybe if others took E or P hormones from non- plant sources or soy, not yam, and did not have negative reactions, that would be interesting to know and compare. I used Vivelle and Prometrium for several years w/out the negative side effects that I've just experienced (and I qualify again that use of fore-mentioned hormones could have 'set me up' for the inevitable 'tsunami' I am experiencing). still thinking, ElleBlue
Guest guest
Yeah, we were all over that one, back in the day. LOL Back in the day when we were desperately trying to make the protocol WORK!! Nuimom became quite the compounding expert. I can't remember what we figured out exactly except after all the experimenting - it came back to the P4, the progesterone, the ocean mamaTHAT was what was hurting us.!! oh, we had samples of hormones from all over the place. Our doctors' offices were calling Rx's to so many places. We got quite a cupboard of samples. We fussed about the base creams and tried many of those. Gallipot and someone else. Then to the OOE. And yet.... For us... it came back to... progesterone overdosing. Sure the gunk in the creams was bad (the list of ingredients is in the files) but no variation helped. Madeleen and Lynne only do olive oil though. They don't touch the HRT gunk.If you look back in the archives you might see the discussion. Although there was a huge amount of talk that was off list and on-phone. We were being assaulted by Wiley's cult system. Our efforts to try to figure out the problem (to make the protocol work) by trying various hormone approaches we deemed to be "using estrogen like a street drug" We really looked into everything we could think of to make it work. We thought she was a scientist who was out to save women. Embarrassing that my Dad had it right all along. Maybe the archives?LaurelDoes anyone have info on experiences, data, research, observation, ideas on yam-based hormones in regards to side effects, reactions, allergies, all-manner of unique individual responses?
