You know I tired that a couple of years ago but I have too much weight

pounding down on my flat feet to stay comfortable that way. I know Shellie

Blanks likes to work out barefoot, so whatever works the best for you is the

way you should do it!

hi kathy!

yes i have done tae-bo barefoot and billy does recommend it if you workout

on a surface that wont allow shoes to pivot properly (like carpeting).

however, i do exercise on a hardwood floor so i do wear shoes... once while

working out barefoot, i kicked a piece of furniture and was out of

commission for a few days and i was so mad at myself! so be careful that

you dont kick something and hurt yourself while barefoot. also while

barefoot, be sure that you are not gripping the floor surface with your toes

to improve your balance... that is not the way to do it! really the only

time that i go barefoot now is while doing guts & butts while im sore from

other workouts.... sometimes i feel a bit of relief by removing the weight

of my shoes in that workout... but really it is rare that i dont wear shoes.

Hi, Kathy! Welcome back from vacation! I started doing TaeBo with barefeet

after taking a Tae Kwon Do class. I noticed how light I felt while kicking,

and my kicks were more focused and deliberate. To this day, I'm still not

sure if I would have suffered the injury to my ankle had I been wearing

shoes. Will I go back to working out with barefeet? If I had a choice, I

would. But right now, I can't.

Kathy,

I keep forgetting to reply to this and say that I used to workout barefoot, but

when I thought I would be taking a class w/ , I wanted to prepare and I

started wearing shoes. I also have to walk outside to get to my gym now to

workout so I wear shoes all the time. I think it's just whatever you are most

comfortable doing. I could easily get comfortable not wearing shoes again!

I have always done Tae-bo barefoot. I think I may have tried once

with shoes, but I did not like the feel of it.

I have noticed though that since I now have a basement to workout in,

that If I focus in one spot like on the 2x4 stud, and use that as a

marking point to hit my kicks at, it really works the muscle more. My

husband is storing a couple windows in the basement until the larger

garage is built, and it has been acting like a mirror lately, which

is good for the moves, but bad when I am standing still looking at

it. LOL. At least I wear black yoga pants that are more slimming, I

can't stand to where the shorts any more. I like to hear the bottom

of the pants " snap " when I do a kick.

Beckie Who has only number 31 one done in the mighty 100 still have

69 left to go. HEY that number doesn't sound so bad now.

Thanks Carolyn, I needed that this week.

I have not worked out since Sunday. Plus This Saturday is out, unless

I want to make sure my husband stops the truck every 20 minutes so I

can pee. LOL. We are leaving about 6:30 AM and have little over 1

hour drive to the track. Maybe I can bring the bicycle a long and

ride it around the pits, or I usually do a lot of walking.

Tomorrow is another day, and I can do it.

Next week I will have to push, push, push.

It won't be too much longer and those pesky windows will be gone. I

know what you mean about staying away from mirror's. We just moved

into our new house in March, and I couldn't believe how many mirrors,

and how big they are. In our apartment, we only had a small medicine

cabinet that the mirror size was about 12 " wide and 22 " high. I could

only see my face and shoulders. LOL. Now I can see EVERYTHING!!! LOL

Thanks again for the incuragement

Hi ,

" To this day, I'm still not

sure if I would have suffered the injury to my ankle had I been wearing

shoes. "

Maybe, I did a nasty fall down my stairs and landed on my foot the other

day and I was wearing shoes. I really thought I had broken my ankle. I

was trying to step around all the junk put there by my kids! Luckily I

only strained it a little - but not enough to stop me doing Taebo:).

Take care,

Kathy

Thanks to all that replied about the doing Taebo barefoot. I to think it

comes down to preference.

" My husband is storing a couple windows in the basement until the larger

garage is built, and it has been acting like a mirror lately, which

is good for the moves, but bad when I am standing still looking at

it. LOL. "

Beckie,

That is one thing I need to get. A mirror to see if how I'm doing with the

moves.

Take care,

Kathy
