It sounds like it crosses from the intestines to the blood easily. One article said it could be found in the blood of women who were eating natto (see below) in a few hours. Since fibroids have such a rich blood supply it really makes sense it could dissolve them Very cool thought! Nattokinese is the main ingredient in the fibroid supplement mentioned earlier….don't recall the name of it. It comes from a fermented Japanese soy product called natto. (sounds like natto tastes and smells utterly bad…a very, very aquired taste) Lynn Here's a few links to explore this further: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=2123064 & dopt=Books Enhancement of the fibrinolytic activity in plasma by oral administration of nattokinase. Sumi H, Hamada H, Nakanishi K, Hiratani H. Department of Physiology, Miyazaki Medical College, Japan. The existence of a potent fibrinolytic enzyme (nattokinase, NK) in the traditional fermented food called 'natto', was reported by us previously. It was confirmed that oral administration of NK (or natto) produced a mild and frequent enhancement of the fibrinolytic activity in the plasma, as indicated by the fibrinolytic parameters, and the production of tissue plasminogen activator. NK capsules were also administered orally to dogs with experimentally induced thrombosis, and lysis of the thrombi was observed by angiography. The results obtained suggest that NK represents a possible drug for use not only in the treatment of embolism but also in the prevention of the disease, since NK has a proven safety and can be massproduced. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, thanks for making that info available to everybody by indicating some websites. I've been taken Natto for the last 6 months (instead of Policosanol, which is a natural cholesterol) fighter. I also take EDTA chelating products to get bad mineral deposits out of the bloodstream/arteries. If you want to save some money, Swanson (catalogue health supplements) has it by the name of Nattozime, and cheaper: 90 capsules for 8.99 at slightly higher natto content: 65mg per capsule. I'm getting a lot of my supplements from Swanson, almost almost much cheaper, and they test out as good a quality as i.e. Jarro..) Guest guest
Well don't get too excited. I went over to the Yahoo " Healing Fibroids Naturally " group and people over there say this doesn't shrink fibroids. Guest guest
Hi Lynn: If I recall correctly, I've been on Nattozyme 6-4 months. I only knew that it cleans the blood of cholesterol, (which is high in my blood ,although I have very high HDL for balance). Haven't taken blood tests for a long time. I've taken just one/day. I haven't looked at that. I haven't looked what the " fibrovan " recommends for fibroids. Anyway : I don't know how long the women you mention took the natto. Even if natto does nothing but keep your arteries clear and your blood " un-stuck " , in my opinion it behooves any health conscious person to take it after 35. Guest guest
Well the Fibrovan site isn't going to promote negative press. That's why I wanted outside opinion on the stuff. Actually, I happen to like the ingredients in it - so I have not written it off yet. This is assuming my fibroids ARE the actual cause of my bleeding. If they aren't, then I'm in trouble. > > > > , > I just went to the " fibrovan " and read up on what these women said.
