Guest guest
Maybe prolonged exposure will help. in the 1970's I worked at a racetrack (5 years) and used DMSO daily on many horses. Yes, I got the taste and smell a lot back then, but I was a kid and ignored it. Now that I am in my 60's and have begun using DMSO on myself externally and internally I NEVER get any taste or other " bad " side-effect. Perhaps your body and nose will develop a tolerance and ignore the DMSO smell and taste in time. To me, the plus side of DMSO is worth the " side-effect " which does no more harm than an odor. It did a lot of good for the horses I took care of then and it is helping me now. Lyn wrote: > > > I am back again with this same issue. Guest guest
Well here is the story and I am sticking to it. When tree's grow, it is in fibers, like pieces of thread, thousands of them stuck together with a glue, lignin, when tree's are made into paper fibers must be separated, the glue is removed with acid, so a by product of paper manufacturing, that is called black liquor, or dmso, dmso is then boiled down to MSM, powder, crystal. So simple MSM is boiled down dmso, MSM is purported to do anything dmso will do, except not have the smell. The smell of course is sulfur, how healthy is sulfur? Knot everything fits like we would like. What if we added the sulfur back in, maybe a less offensive odor would result. In the use of medical marijuana, the glue is also removed in the same manner, then boiled like dmso to get the finished syrup, when eaten, it is said to be as affective as smoking??? david lubbock tx. > Arkema brand dmso, claims to have made great headway with their DMSO, > purifying it, supposedly the worlds biggest producer of DMSO, allah France, > however the guys at the gym, say not true, > Arkema has illiminated most of the body odor, but there is still garlic > odor on their breath, for which they use breath mints, etc. > The scientific stuff, reads that the smell occurs when dmso enters the body > and begins to break down into sulfur products, which then give off garlic > odor. > To ease the mind of those using dmso internally, dmso is used as a liquid > transport mix for stem cells that are being transplanted, of course Dr. > did that kind of work. > I also read of a clinic in Atlanta, they regularly IV DMSO for inflamation > at high doses. > Dr. equates it to aspirin in DMSO's health promotion. > This highlights how one idiopathic occurrence can change the world of > medicine, a lady in scotland died after taking several medications and then > dmso, the news media blamed her death on the dmso, the repercussions were > that several drug company clinical trials using dmso was halted, and that > pretty much was the beginning of the end for dmso. > david lubbock tx. > > > > >> ** >> >> >> Maybe prolonged exposure will help. in the 1970's I worked at a >> racetrack (5 years) and used DMSO daily on many horses. Guest guest
The smell is due to Dimethyl Sulfide, which is not, strickly speaking sulfur, but does contain a sulfide group. MSM does not metabolize to DMS. DMSO metabolizes only some 5% or less to DMS. It is naturally produced from coffee, corn an oysters, and also garlic as well. > Well here is the story and I am sticking to it. Guest guest
Hi Lyn I generally have two teaspoons of DMSO each day. I make a mix with urea in the ratio below on kitchen scales: 6gm urea 1gm sea salt 6gm water 19gm DMSO I found that with this mix only people with extremely sensative noses can pick up any scent. If I am going out on the weekend I drop my intake down to 1 teaspoon the day before and there is no residual smell the next day. Hope this helps. Greg. >

Guest guest
How about trying something like taking a daily dose of DE (Diatomaceous Earth) or azomite or a bentonite clay as a cleaner, so to speak. Lin. I don't take DMSO internally either, so I am curious about this too, as I was considering taking it with my daily iodine. I do take DE and azomite (almost) every day. > > I am back again with this same issue. I have armed myself with a 25 lb bag of urea because the only garden supply that could get it for me could only get that size. I have started using this ground up to powder and poured right into the DMSO bottle to soak. Aftr a few days, and it still stunk, I then poured some of that into a jar with coconut oil and added peppermint. I took one dose today after not taking any for a week. I have been taking chlorophyll three times a day for a few weeks so that is in me. After a few hours I could taste that DMSO in my mouth again! It is not my imagination because it is a sharp taste.
