Ok, I really don't agree with these figures, as they really don't take into account an individual's bone structure. I measure 5'2 and a half inches. Right now, I weigh 120 pounds (I don't look fat at all, just normal), but I did go down to 115 last year (where everyone was telling me that I was TOO thin... which I now agree with them). Bottom line is there is a range of weight you should be according to your height. I would think that for you 110 is probably a weight you should not go below, instead of a goal to try to reach. A healthier way to approach it is to be within your BMI " healthy " range (20-25), which for people 5'2 " is between 108 and 135 pounds. I'm not preaching that the BMI is the best thing, but it appears to be much more healthy than weighing in at 110, IMO. Janick
Guest guest
I agree with you Janick, That is why in my original post I did also said that my doctor told me that for my height I should weigh somewhere between 135 and 150. (I am 5'7 " ) So she told me a 15LB range. I know I was really happy when i was at 140 - 145 LBS and in a size 8. Just want to get back to it. I am now about 170 -175 and in a size 14. I don't even own a scale. YEAH!! But I do get on one once in a while at my inlaws, just to see if it is going down, and not up!! Thanks, Beckie who has number 28 done, and only 72 more to go. > > >I know if you are > > > within about 20 lbs of your ideal weight for your height, it is > > > really hard to loose. (I am 5'7 " ) I just didn't want Carolyn to think that she should weigh 110, because it might be unrealistic according to her body type, bone structure, muscle build, etc... I do own a scale, but I am not a slave to it. I went back to WW after a 3 month hiatus (I only gained 2 pounds during that hiatus... thank god) and our leader was telling us how the scale can act as only one of the various forms of feedback in our journey. WW uses the scale because it is the " easiest measurable " form of feedback, but they don't want their members to become obsessed or be ruled by the scale. I have certainly adhered to this and have relied on every other form of feedback, then trying to compare it with that number on the scale. I loved this leader's session so much, that I decided to apply for a group leader job at WW. I have an interview tonight, and will find out when I will start my training. I want to help others like I have been helped. I'm also still looking into becoming a group fitness instructor (step or kickboxing) and into various certification programs. I'm planning on cutting back my work schedule to 4 days a week to be able to fit this all in. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know. Guest guest
Hi Janick, how did your WW interview go? With your spirit and the love you have for others you will be awesome at that and as a fitness instructor! > I loved this leader's session so much, that I decided to apply for a > group leader job at WW. The only thing is when I got home to talk to Gilbert about it, he ridiculed me, and it hurt! He's been having a tough time at work, and I think that the commitment that is involved with the training of it all kind of scared him (because he knows that means he's going to have to do a bit more in the house for the next few weeks). If I don't have the support from my spouse, I don't think I can manage it. He kinda asked me to choose between being a fitness instructor and a WW leader (pushing the fitness instructor, because he thinks it's more for me). So now, I really don't know what to do. It's true I am much more passionate about fitness than I am about WW. But to me, one doesn't go without the other. Guest guest
At least you (and the rest of us here) can be excited for you that you have the oppty. to work with WW. I understand your thoughts about WW and fitness going together. They really do. But it's also hard to do something w/o support from your spouse. Believe me, I understand! Let us know what you decide. Let your heart guide you, then you can't go wrong! > The interview was actually just a formality. They pretty much hired > me on the spot. That's great that you are able to cut your work schedule back to accomodate your new positions. Please keep us posted on how things are going.
