Dear Lee,

Until you mentioned it, I had completely forgotten that this was one of my husbands major symptoms. He was so emotional between when he started symptoms for MS and when he started LDN. I focused more on the physical things I could see and of course the depression which can be intermingled with being highly emotional. But his ease to cry disappeared real soon after starting LDN.

I am glad to hear that you have had some relief.

[low dose naltrexone] no longer emotionally incontinent

I have had chronic progressive multiple sclerosis for the last 28 years. I am now 51 years old. Never went on any of the crab drugs. I was already a quadriplegic by the time they came out. It didn't seem worth the side effects that I had heard about. Recently a friend of mine told me about LDN. After lurking on your users group I decided to give it a go. I started with 1.5 mg for one month. I now take 3 mg and am about to start 4.5 mg next week. I did experience some old stiffness and cramping. To be expected after reading others experience. It did not last long.

One of my MS symptoms has definitely been totally eradicated by the LDN. A little-known symptom of MS is what I like to call emotional incontinence. At the drop of a hat, I can get very emotional. Whenever my 20-year-old daughter would leave for college, all she would have to say to me is " don't cry" that would be it, the waterworks would start. In fact anytime she would say don't cry, I did. It became a joke between the two of us. A stupid movie could definitely make me cry. Since I've been taking the LDN I am now able to watch movies like Terms of Endearmeant, Steel Magnolias And Old Yellow without even tearing up. Might sound stupid to you, but it's a big deal to me. Although my daughter misses my emotional outbreaks, she found them endearing.

It's nice to know that a 51-year-old man can now go to the movies and not worry about wetting himself. For that alone, I have become a LDN lifer...

Just as a sidebar, I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking to dictate this e-mail, to operate my computer and control everything in my apartment. If anyone needs any help becoming more independent, feel free to contact me. We all have to work together.

Thanks again for all your help!Leeltdnrg@...

Hi lyn

I bought Dragon and it drove me nuts. Despite weeks of '"training" it to understand my voive, it still made lots of errors, and meticulous, time-consuming proof reading was essential. I eventually gave up - it was taking too much time and energy.

That was my experience
