Stopping Copaxone...loving LDN

I was very unsuccessful on Copaxone...I didn't feel any better and the MRI's came back with more lesions...I was on it 10 months and had 2 big exacerbations and many other issues...it just wasn't a good match for me. When it was time to quit, I spoke with 3 different neurologists to find out if there was a way I should go off...slowly, cold turkey, how? ALL 3 told me to just stop...like that. No wait for anything else, no partial doses...just stop. So I did.

Later, I found LDN. I was not happy with my experience on the CRAB drugs, and all the other ones scared me EVEN MORE than Copaxone. So I began some hunting and found LDN. I gathered info and spoke to my Dr, but he was not supportive, so I ordered it on my own through medsmex.com It came about 2 1/2 weeks later and I've been happy with it!

No, I'm not "cured," but I have loved the results:

Sleep Disturbance: NONE! I have the "vivid dreams"...not nightmares, sometimes strange, sometimes normal, but I REMEMBER them, very detailed, very cool---it's like looking forward to going to bed so I can find out what "movie" is on that night! My husband enjoys hearing about the dreams, too. He thinks it's a great sign that my brain is working more and better than before.

Fatigue: Just about gone! I still have that "ugh, I don't wanna get out of bed" feeling when I first wake up, but as soon as my feet are on the floor and I'm vertical, I'm going! I make real breakfast for my kids (no quick cereal, but the real stuff!), I get showered and dressed to my shoes, I get things done! I really have a lot more energy right from the starting line. I was taking Provigil before LDN, and tried to still take both, but no matter when I took the Provigil, I still had that "down time" in the afternoon...and if I took Provigil too late, I would not sleep at night, so I stopped taking it altogether...now it's just LDN. As far as the afternoon "zombie time"...it is still WAY BETTER than it was before LDN, and even when I was trying to take the Provigil to combat it, I still had it, I finally decided that was my body's way of saying "I need to take a little rest, so let me already!" So I have the great energy the first half of the day, then I just need to take it easier in the afternoon...but before I would be a zombie, now I just need to do a slower activity, like reading, watching TV, or just relaxing....before, I was really a wreck. So I would say that my fatigue is definately lessened...probably to it's max. I am still sick, and having 3 young children plus MS does tend to wear a person out...so I'm dealing with that...perhaps it'll be better when the kids are older. ;)

Constipation: not a problem for me.

Stiffness: I've had a bit of problem with my right leg....but I had an exacerbation the week before I began LDN and the steroids didn't take care of it all the way...so that's more just lingering previous problems...I don't think the LDN has created any additional stiffness...in fact, if anything, it's helped!

Feeling of well-being: DEFINATELY!!! For the first time really in years, I have a great overall feeling of good health!

I can't think of any other things to report...I'm very happy with LDN. I get the 50 mg tabs from Mexico and dissolve them in a 50 ml botle of distilled water. For now I'm taking 3 ml each night, but may up that dosage after I've been on it a month or so.

I believe you should try it...you've really nothing to lose...as said before, there's nothing your DR can give you with less side-effects. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
