Guest guest
, I feel compelled to respond to your e-mail to Marcie, even though I know she can certainly stand up for herself! I think you're misunderstanding. No one's saying side effects aren't worth considering and that doing our own research isn't important. I've been part of this group on and off for two years now and one of the things I have noticed is that a number of people fail to actually DO the research. If you (that's a generic " you " ) read the information Aletha sends from Dr. Lawrence in the welcome packet and you read the the official LDN site--www.ldninfo.org--information about side effects is clearly presented. Dr. Lawrence, in particular, goes into quite a bit of detail about the possibility of flare-ups of old and/or temporary symptoms when starting LDN. It seems that many people who are new to LDN are expecting miracles. I understand that sometimes people are feeling desperate--MS can be devastating. But the primary reason to take LDN is to prevent disease progression. If you also experience symptom relief, you're one of the lucky ones. Of course, everyone has to evaluate their own situations and make their own decisions. A great many of us have had phone consultations with Dr. Bihari because of questions like these. Guest guest
Can I ask something here? Not pointing fingers or trying to make anyone uncomfortable. I'm asking this for myself with no agenda or ulterior motive. What exactly is this group for? I'm fairly new so maybe I am expecting more of a group or too little or? Is this a group where regulars meet with no interuptions? Or is it a group to discuss what you have learned at the read only LDN sight? Is this a support group or is it used to show others how many are on LDN? Or is it an add on to payed serices? Meaning those that payed for consults, get the added benefit of this group? Again I don't mean any disrespect. I just want to get an idea of how things work here. That way I am less likely to upset anyone. Take Care and Thank you ps, I also wanted to ask what detail Dr. Lawrence goes into? What I read was kinda vague. Meaning it didn't go into detail it just listed symptoms as a whole. I'm wondering if I missed something. I'm really curious about this all over numb feeling. It's really weird. I did read as much as I could but may have missed something. > > , I feel compelled to respond to your e-mail to Marcie, even though > I know she can certainly stand up for herself! Guest guest
I appreciate your feedback, . However, I don't feel I said anything that one would feel the need to stand up for. I was stating my opinion, just as others do. I guess to me the willingness and ability to deal with side effects and such is a very individual thing that each person needs to decide. I certainly feel I have done extensive reading and research here and at other sites regarding ldn, looking at side effects, anticipated results, and antecdotal evidence. This is so important to me as one of my closest friends is currently on ldn, and I am wanting to start it myself for my illness. I don't think it's a matter of people not being aware of the possible side effects from the information made available at the website and in the welcome packet. It's that the side effects one experiences (if any) are different from person to person. I would be very surprised if anyone who is currently taking ldn or is thinking of doing so hasn't looked at those things as carefully as I have. I just think it is important that everyone's feelings are respected regarding their concerns. One can read the information and still want to ask other people currently on ldn what their experiences are. I would imagine many people cannot afford a consultation with Dr. Bihari to ask these questions...I know I certainly can't. I think that has generally everyone has been respectful, and I did not mean to imply otherwise. I apologize if my comment was considered " out of line " . Sincerely,
