I routinely use 0.01% estriol cream on my face. It helps and does not raise my estradiol levels. I am assuming this study used estradiol in a cream form. The summary is not very precise - it uses "estrogen" and "estradiol" to define the same thing.

I do wonder if I should buy the 0.1% cream, but this is what I've been using. I did a test by putting it on half my face and ear lobe but not on the other. At the end of two weeks, I had my family pick the better side. They picked the treated one.
