Couldn't stick out his tongue, didn't talk at all til age 3, etc. and was in a speech program.before age 3. He was dismissed in June with an 82% articulation. They said he was " age appropriate " .He has really regressed if this testing was true at the time. Now he was recently tested again and has a 16% articulation. they said at the school that there are new guidelines and he won't get in the speech program til he is at 8% articulation. There are times when only his mother and sister can understand what he is trying to say. When they tested him, they said he has to relearn how to move his lips and tongue. His father can't understand what he is trying to say at times. My daughter feels she has to put up a fight to get him back into the speech program. We live in Grafton, Wisconsin, 20 miles north of Milwaukee. Any suggestions as to how to get him back into speech? She was reluctant to sign him out of the program and now wish that she hadn't. Yet he could lick an ice-cream cone but if told to stick out his tongue, he couldn;t do it. The speech therapist put peanut butter or a sticky sucker on the side of his mouth and told him t o try to lick it off. Guest guest Posted November 23, 2005 Report Share Posted November 23, 2005 Hi , Rebif and LDN is a NoNo. I was on Rbif for 1 1/2 yrs and just kept getting worse and felt awful all the time. I do believe I have eitherP Progressive or Secondary Progressive and they just gave me Rebif for lack of anything else. My doc was also the lead investigator for the Rebif trials and was pushing it to all. All the CRAB's are slow chemo. Anyway, LDN works for me. The week I stopped the Rebif I started LDN and have remained stable 2 1/2 yrs on LDN , sleep great, and feel great. Your doc will probably not give you the LDN if you do not agree to take the Rebif, almost surely. My only regret in life, and I sincerely mean this, is that I did not start LDN sooner and not the Rebif. I believe I would not have needed the cane and I would be able to walk just about normal. Being you were on Copaxone, ask your doc to just try LDN for awhile., you need a needle break! Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving. Guest guest Posted November 24, 2005 Report Share Posted November 24, 2005 I finally got my nuero to prescibe me LDN, but he wants me on Rebif too. Isn't that a no no. contradiction. I had been on Copaxone for 4 years and it did no good. In fact many more lesions in my brain, neck and spinal cord. Is anyone out there on both Rebif and LDN? Should I tell him I want to try just the LDN first? Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
