Guest guest
Imogene I'm with you. I understood the piece that was shown on TV was taken from his appearance before Congress. Jacqui in So Florida
Guest guest
Yes Dann, And it is time to move on from that issue here too. If any of you want to continue the political conversation, you need to take it to private email, please. There really aren't any answers. And there are lots of opinions, and I don't want us to get divided! Thanks for the reminder Dann. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Re: Re: Rush Limbaugh's comments re: Parkinson J. Fox There is an old joke, that goes something like this: If you have only one attorney in town, and he/she is under employeed. Get a 2nd attorney, and both will be busy. Apparently, there is disagreement for embryo stem cell research among PhD Biochemists, Neurologists, etc. I just want to find a cure for Parkinsons' Disease and LBD. Even better would be a way to prevent them like Sauk did for Polio. There are so many things that unite this LBD group. We had best concentrate on those issues. My wife and I didn't wait for the November Election. She has surgery scheduled at Mayo Clinic the day before, so we already voted, absentee last week. We didn't talk before hand, but we talked after: neither of us voted a straight ticket. The majority of Congressmen and Senators: Both Republican controlled branches of the U.S. Congress voted last month to approve new embryo stem cell research. The President vetoed the bill. Our pastor prays for all things good for our President Bush: I also wish him the blessing of wise leadership. We are all praying for a miracle. I was a sitting member of my church council, when the Pastor proposed that we endorse G.W.Bush for President at the last election. I spoke up and said with certainty: this was the best issue we could find to divide and separate our congregation. At my church council, we moved on to the next issue. AMEN ! While I know as much as anyone how horrific parkinson's is - I too feel that his motives - we're a little questionable. DOnna
Guest guest
It is important to note that J. Fox admitted to NOT taking his medications when he testified before congress so his symptoms would be more prominent. Margee ---- Janet Colello wrote: ============= Count me in on that too Donna K. and . J. Fox has an agenda and though it is understandable he would like a cure, as well as the rest of us that have had to deal with Parkinsons in any form. I too believe his motives were questionable. I do not doubt that he has days like he displayed, I have seen worse and think that Rush's remark about faking it was uncalled for. I think both Rush's and 's actions were both in poor taste, as most of the political advertisements and hype are these days. Jan

Guest guest
In the interest of full disclosure, I have to tell you that I am O. Swift's daughter. My mother is his wife. The LBD patient I've discussed, in days gone by, is my mother, and is 's wife. ROS is my dad. We are polar opposites, in many ways. We love one another, in a sick sort of way, I've come to discern. (Dad, I'll always love you. I guess I can never agree with you.) In my personal opinion, Limbaugh's comments regarding J. Fox are reprehensible, irredeemable, reptilian, and just plain suck. Obviously, my dad, and others, disagree. Cool -- the US of A, it's still a notional democracy. It certainly makes no difference to the debate that my mother's parkinsonism, with or without medications, has negated her faintest ability to perform any meaningful ADLs for the past *five* years, needless to say. Surely, this is merely a crafty " Democrat " ploy. I'm not a dem, I'm not a rep. I'm a free-thinking, rational human being. Sorry to haul this family scrap into the group...even though I personally didn't. Best wishes to all, and much, much love to all my old friends in LBDC, and, much love to those who've come in after my greatest time of need, Deborah > > J Fox is just another Hollywood celebrity trying to use any possible means to get another Liberal Democrat in office. Guest guest
There wouldn't have been much of an effect if he gone before them in a " normal " state. They needed to know what the effects of the disease are. --- Margee wrote: > It is important to note that J.
