Hi Dave,

When I first started Naltrexone I didn't know of a compounding pharmacy around Windsor, ON. I tried to cut up the pill with a sharp knife and that just made a mess. So I took half a pill, 25mg. When I woke up the next morning my 3 month long exaserbation was gone. I could walk better. I wasn't tired and I felt human again not a dish rag. I took it this way for 2 weeks that time and I had to find a compounding pharmacy because my head was buzzing constantly. It seemed very loud. My doctor said that maybe it was the neurons refiring. Then I found a compounding pharmacy, Hunter's, the only one in Windsor. Then I found the group. So you see I did things backwards and found that 25mg works for exaserbations.

Since starting I have used the 25mg again twice. The first time was when I started having trouble with my right eye which would have left me blind. It cleared it right up again. I have seen the eye doctor since then and have no ON in my right eye.

The second time I had a charlie horse in my right calf for 3 weeks then it got worse! My calf cramped so much I couldn't put my heel on the floor. So I took 25mg to see if that would get rid of it. The next morning I could put my heel on the floor but it was turned to the right and I couldn't straighten it out. I took 25mg again and the next morning my leg was back to normal. No more charlie horse either. I took the 25mg for 1 week now I am taking 4.5mg again. If I have another exaserbation I will take 25mg naltrexone to see if that works before I will ever do solumedrol IV drip again.

Some of the people I know with MS tried to do the 25mg when they first started taking LDN and they didn't see any improvement with it. None of them were having an exaserbation at that time. So it might only work at that high of a dose if you are having an exaserbation.

I will have been on LDN 2 years on Dec.17 and I will continue to take LDN until they have a cure for MS. Hope all is well,

Kathy
