Howdy All!

While visiting for our church, Lucy and I met a family who had a 2 year old

girl. She was small for her age. I didn't think anything about it at

first. Later, she walked by holding her ears. Mother mentioned that she

had tubes placed in her ears because of ear problems, but that now she

seemed to hear better. She later mentioned a VSD. When I " innocently "

asked about further health problems, she mentioned some related to kidney

problems.

Am I hypersensitive to the possibility of CHARGE or was I correct in

suggesting that she ask her doctor about that? BTW, she has upsloped,

almond shaped eyes...tests for Downs and Mosaicism have shown nothing in

that area.

On another note, another child in the church was just discovered to have

MD. Her family makes just a bit over the limit for government help. SO,

any info that anyone in Texas has about the Beckett type waivers that

would help Kayla could be used in a couple of other kids as well. So...any

suggestions from those who have gone through the Texas Red Tape?

Oh, Kayla...after a week of sickness I was abe to go by there today. She

was in very good spirits, and had a good weekend! I (and the family is) am

hoping that the new meds are providing a lot of help. She sees Doc on

Wednesday and Neurologist on Thursday.

Thanks,

Bob (Teacher to Kayla 15 y.o.)
