Guest guest
Holly and - Welcome to the list! Glad that you have found us! has the severe gagging despite G-Tube and Fundo (Nissen); we have been on continuous feeds by pump for almost a month now and it has not stopped the gagging, but it has helped. Is fed only by G-Tube right now? has a heart surgery coming up too - we can hang in there together! Guest guest
Amy Thank you for replying back. My son is only on bolus feeds w/ his G tube every 3 1/2 -4 hours @ 83cc. Boy it is tiring. I've asked about continous feeding but the Surgeon said he wants to see how he does w/ bolus feeds right now. My son only weighs 8 lbs. and the nurse that comes to my house said that he should gain about 2-3 oz. a day. I go back to our Pediatricin on Friday to ask about calorie intake he is on enfamil Lactofree 20cal. Your daughter is having heart surgery , What is wrong w/ her heart? How much does she weigh? We go back to the Cardio doctor Friday also to find out when they are going to check the pressure in his heart and lungs. Then will find out when his surgery will be. Hopefully not any time soon. thanks Holly ( 5mos w/ charge), 4, Bill( husband) St. Cloud, FL Cae@... wrote: > From: Cae@... > > Holly and - > > Welcome to the list! Guest guest
Holly, WELCOME !!! 8 pounds at 5 months is about what weighed.. we had to wait til he was that or over to have his first cleft surgery.. Geez what I would have given for him to gain even an ounce a day. He's still little, 6.5 yo and is 41 inches tall and only weighs 36 pounds.. One thing I always joke about with the slow growth is our kids are the only kids I know of that actually wear out clothes and shoes before they outgrow them. hang in there.. we are here for you and I promise.. it will get easier.. Guest guest
Holly, Hi there, just reading your message to Amy regarding 's feeding. I think the nurse might be mistaken, 2-3 oz a day is a lot. Our daughter Kennedy's pediatrician is happy with about 20 grams a day for a weight gain - which is a little less than 1 oz <30 grams = 1 ounce>. I'd check with his pediatrician about how much he should gain. Good luck on Friday with the Cardiologist, Kennedy has already had her open heart surgery <at nine days old>, so we are hoping we are over that one for good! By the way, Welcome to the list! Glad you found us and I hope you find it useful, I know we sure did and do!
