Guest guest
Hi Atlanta girl, I just read your previous post. I too saw Dr. Redmond and he is big on the BCP. He did some of the original studies on the BCP and acne (for the drug co). He gets some things but than he seems to not understand others. I have been off the spiro for a while now and I am just taking thyroid and E (not as much as before due to one bleeding episode) and my hair loss is something I don't experience much anymore. I sent my daughter to see a new Dr in NYC (she has done studies on calcium and hormone response). I am currently using some of the Vit D/calcium (fairly high dose) that my daughter uses and the funny thing is that I am sleeping like the dead. I don't remember sleeping this well since my 20's. It is too soon to tell whether this is working for my daughter but I will let you know. The one thing this Dr said is that the ovaries need is adequate calcium which in turn supports hair skin and nails. I would investigate that route w/Vit D and your bodies ability to absorb calcium. I think that it is fairly complicated w/the blood tests(knowing what to look for) and the 24 hour urine. Let me know if you would like her name (I think she also teaches at Columbia) Karin > > This might explain why I had such horrible hair loss on the spiro. Unbelievable the loss. > > Atlanta Girl > > > > > > > > Subject: Re: Got my labs back...(Karin) > > > > I was on the Spiro for about 2 1/2 years and it did not help w/new > > hair growth and I had to take much more E when taking it.
