Guest guest
Casey, Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to inquire about this at our formal training session if not sooner. Tim has been poked and prodded so much and really hates anything medical (although he used to love playing with his kiddie doctor kit and will put syringes up to a dolls arm or it's stomach) and I want this daily procedure to be as uneventful as possible. What exactly....or how does this Injecta-pin work vs using a needle? Guest guest
Donna, Hi i am a lurker on Casey's list had to jump in on this one. Casey is talking about an inject ease it is a little pen like thingy<G> you drop the filled syringe into it you place it on the injection site and press a button on the side and it puts the needle through the skin very fast then you push in the medicine .Now there are several types of these it all depends on what drug company supplies your GH. most children stop crying after you start using this it is free ask your endo if you can't find it you can call the MAGIC foundation they are the support for children with growth disorders. they have a news letter and all sorts of information on growth disorders. they're great! Also there are a few different things so your child can feel more in control we always let our daughter pick her injection site and clean it with the alcohol pad , the only time we didn't listen to her is when she picked her dad's arm!! Well i hope this helps let me know. take care, cindy
Guest guest
, Thanks for the info. This sounds like something I should definitely look into. I was quickness and ease. We're using the Children's Hospital's homecare program to get our meds so I would think they definietely should have the pens available. I've been to the Magic Foundation's website. It is terrific !! Helped us a great deal when we were just getting into this. Perhaps the site deserves a second look :-) Oh, and knowing Tim - he'd choose to put the med back in the fridge if we asked him to pick a site <G> Thanks for your help.
