Guest guest
Hi everyone, My boyfriend has MS and is using LDN since about 6 months with good results. Like most people on this forum I would like LDN to be clinically tested. In my hometown Groningen (The Netherlands) there is a very good hospital (UMCG; University Medical Center Groningen) that does quite a lot of MS research. Recently they have clinically tested the bee-sting method (with negative results) so I thought if they are willing to test such an experimental and human-unfriendly method why not LDN??? I send a few e-mails to one of the researchers and to my big surprise he said he would discuss it with the rest of the team. Today he told me that the team is actually interested in testing LDN!!! I almost couldn't believe what I read! He wants to make an appointment with me to talk about it! Of course their first concern is how to fund the research. For some serious clinical testing they will need at least 150,000 to 200,000 euro (in dollars that would be a little less). I really love to help finding sponsors. Does anybody have any suggestions? I know there are some people raising money for research. Please send your suggestions to this forum or to my personal e-mail address annacarolina1968@.... Thank you for your help! A very exited Carolina
Guest guest
Good news, Jackie! You mean the confirmation test (on the split sample) came back negative? That's interesting. Very good news! I got a phone call from the nursing board today and they said because I tested negative for etg in my second urine screen that my license will not be suspended and I will be going to work tomorrow. After hearing what everyone has gone through, and is going through I am very grateful. I just pray I do not test positive again. I am reading every label and not using anything that might have ethyl alcohol. I am glad I can use Dial soap and Secret Solid deodorant! Everything else will just be au'naturel! Good luck to everyone and thank you for being here and sharing your experiences so I could get information when I desperately needed it. Guest guest
No that was still positive. But I tested again after my routine call in, the Monday after I was sent home from work on Wed and that test was neg. I told the Compliance Consultant at the BON that if they know anything about alcoholism(which I'm not sure they do) if I had relapsed and was drinking, I would definately still be drinking after testing positive, I would have to, with all that pressure and knowing everyone would find out. That's what my past shows. I used drugs for six months. Crashed and burned. Got arrested, lost my nursing license. Got in recovery. Three years later, I relapsed with alcohol. Drank for six months, crashed and burned, knew I would test positive, attempted suicide, turned in my license. Finally learned through a great SA counselor and a great group therapy with other nurses in recovery who had lost their license, and my AA how to change my way of thinking and dealing with life and am the happiest I have ever been. So I don't have to drink or use now But if I started drinking I would have to keep on until I crashed and burned again, I don't have the luxury of saying "Oops! I might get in trouble, I have to stop." That's what makes me an alcoholic! Took some tough lessons to learn this but I finally did. Then this! Ugh! But, thank God, I have not had to go through what so many people have. I was very lucky I think based on everything I have read in forums and emails. Very good news!
