Hitting 100 by Thanksgiving is a pretty aggressive schedule. I figured it out and you'd have to tae-bo every 1.36 days from today on. That is basically 3 out of every 4 days. Thanksgiving is exactly 16 weeks from today which is 112 days. (Sorry, I'm a math geek and like to figure things out.) How often have you been tae-boing to this point? I don't mean to discourage you from meeting this great goal, but I am looking at it from my perspective where if I pick goals that are too aggressive, I tend to give up too easily. I don't want that to happen to you. If you tae-bo that frequently already, GREAT! If not, you may want to revise your goal so you don't psyche yourself out. That is why I'm not doing the mighty 100 because I know that this goal would be too overwhelming for me even without a timeframe. Just my 2 cents. Feel free to ignore my suggestion if it doesn't apply to you. Kerri who hopes Beckie doesn't take her advise in a negative way...it is meant to pass on some personal experience with goal setting which may or may not apply to Beckie __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Kerri, I wantched with intrest your email to Beckie about pacing her workouts. I too am having trouble in that area. What are your experiences ( any of you for that matter) with begginers and how often they should do Tae-bo? If I do it every day it kills me and I get so burned out abut an having trouble finding a pace that is right. I feel a bit guilty when I take a day off as well. Do you have any advise or suggestions? Thanks for your support. Amber Re: checking in (MIGHTY 100) > --- cuda440x2 wrote: > > Just wondering how everyone else is doing? Are you > > still all hanging > > in there. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice Kerri, I too, am kinda of a numbers geek. I have been averaging only about 4 workouts a week. I want to get back to what I was 2 1/2 years ago; when I did do it almost everyday, skipping only a few now and then. I felt a TON better than what I do now, and I was a Lot happier when I was 30LBS lighter and in a size 8. I am just trying to make sure I get out of bed in the morning and put ON the workout clothes. the alarm goes off and I just get up, turn it off, use the restroom, and climb back into bed. And then later kicking myself in the Butt (which keeps getting bigger LOL)So I thought maybe I could set up a goal. I am not the kind of person that gets too upset over things. Unless its about money. Again Thanks, Beckie who has the days circled on the calendar which ones she has worked out on, need to see more circles. > Beckie, > Congrats on completing 18 tae-bo workouts! Guest guest
Amber, I only do 3 1/2 hours of Taebo every week! This equals out to 30 minutes per day if you divide it out! I am a beginner! I don't see how anyone can do 1 hour of Taebo everyday!!!!!! I would be burned out after 2 weeks! I do walk on my Treadmill 2 days per week 1 1/2 miles at 15 minute miles. I just would not stress about frequency of workouts if I were you! I am seeing amazing results from doing it like I am! I will gradually increase the frequency of my Taebo workouts, but for now 30 minutes per day or 3 1/2 hours per week. I usually do 3 advanced workouts of my choice (whatever I feel like choosing) then maybe on saturday I'll do a quick basic workout which seems really " easy " after doing the advanced ones all week. Anyway, just my two cents. Hope I helped in some way! hugs,

If you feel good, keep up that pace. If you still feel burned out, take an extra day off. If you don't feel challenged at all, add a day in, but make sure you take a day off every couple of days to keep from burning out. A day off doesn't have to mean not exercising, but doing another exercise other than tae-bo. Not only does cross training keep you from mentally and physically burning out, but it will accelerate the positive results you get because you'll always keep your body guessing. So, on your off tae-bo days you can not exercise at all, walk, strength train, ride a bike, etc. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi , I began Tae-Bo in January of 2000. I jumped in hard when I began. I did it every day for like a year and a half. I did basics every day for the first 3 months and then switched to throwing in advanced on occasion, after a couple months, I switched to advanced only and did that all the way up to my pregnancy. I was working out 7 days a week when I got pregnant, but with a day off about every other month. Crazy for some people, yes, but it worked excellent for me. On the weekends, I would do 2 basic tapes each day and use my bag. I've never attempted an advanced workout w/ my bag!! Now, that I'm pregnant, I do basic 5 days a week, and then I usually (4 out of 5 days) throw in an additional tape up to a half hour. So I work out anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour 4 days a week and 30 minutes 1 day a week. I'm hoping to stay active w/ Tae-Bo up until the day I deliver, but we'll just have to play it by ear!! After I have the baby, I plan on taking a nice break from Tae-Bo and hopefully getting recharged for when I can jump in again after healing from delivering Darcy who has I think 18 workouts left to go for the 'Mighty 50' ..... Okay, I need to know from everybody in this group, How often do ya'll do
Taebo? Do you do it everyday? If so, do you do Advanced workouts everyday?
Basics? I just don't think I could do advanced everyday.! I was just
wondering how people evolve over time with Taebo! Guest guest
Hello all you dear Tae-bo enthusiasts, Thanks to all the mant people that had advis for beginners. Are any of you taking supplements along with your workouts? ( vitamins or weight loss supplements) I am trying to find a good lick to take with my workouts to help jump start my S-L-O-W metabolism. I am having such trouble with losing weight that I put on when I was pregnant. I drink a ton of water and am very careful about what I eat. ( On a side note, since I really started working out I dont eat the sweet snacks because I worked too hard in that days workout to see it go out the window with what I am eating ) Isnt that funny how you mointor everything, Thats where I see the most mental chang e at this point. Well, sorry if this is rambling but you all know where I am coming from so....Party On! Amber Re: checking in (MIGHTY 100) > Amber, > I only do 3 1/2 hours of Taebo every week! Guest guest
hi stacy! ive adjusted my taebo schedule quite a bit... depending on how ive handled burnout and what tapes i have at the time... ive gone from just doing the same basic tape over and over each day to doing the same advanced tape over and over.... doing the same tape is a good way to get started but it does get boring. so after i got a bunch of new tapes i found it was fun to do a basic tape one day and an advanced tape the next. with the heat and humidity this summer though, i started struggling witht he pace of the advanced tapes (i have asthma and the humidity does me right in also i read billys book and really started concentrating on form and then the advanced tapes became really hard...lol. so i went back to just doing basics and now i do two basics each day, back to back... or i will do one basic and some other activity like my using my nordic track or whatever. when winter comes around i will start doing advanced tapes again... will probably do two basics one day and an advanced tape the next. every one is different but personally i do prefer to workout every day, if possible... i usually end up taking one day off a week. if i take any more time off then i have a hard time getting going again and feel like i have to start all over. i think that everyone needs to find their own schedule and what works best for them... if an advanced tape every other day does it for you then that is fabulous! *~*~*~*~* Carolyn in ONT Canada RE: >Please, please, please let me hear your schedules if you > don't mind! Guest guest
Darcy, All I can say is " WOW " !!!!!! You are totally amazing! I am going to try to do more workouts, more often! I am in awe of you doing Taebo that often while pregnant! I bet your doctor thinks that's great! Have you gained much weight? You will lose it quickly afterwards I'm sure!!! You are a great inspiration! If you can work out like that pregnant, then none of us have any excuse for not working out! When is your baby due? Thank you for answering my post! Guest guest
Kerrie, Thank you for your input! I do treadmill 2 days per week but only 20 minutes or so each time! I just don't enjoy it! Taebo is so upbeat that it makes other things seem humdrum! I am going to try to up my workouts by adding an advanced each week until I am doing all advanced with Sundays off! Maybe just 5 days per week, I don't know! I was wondering--- do you see major results with what you are doing now? I am at a stand still & figure it is the frequency of my workouts & my diet (which stinks). Thank you again! You have been very helpful! I tried to get an advanced tape in at least once a week. Now I do lots of cross training, so I try to do one basic and one advanced tape minimum per week. On the day I do the basic tape, I also do something else like nordic track. (I've made a committment to make more time for exercise.) My advise to you is to do what feels best, not what you think you should. If doing 3 advanced tapes plus a basic a week feels good for you, keep it up. I'd suggest if you want to add more exercise to your schedule, cross train with a different activity. It will keep you from getting burned out and give you better results since your body can get used to one type of exercise. Kerri who plans on doing a basic tae-bo tape today and then some nordic track __________________________________________________

Guest guest
thats one reason why i like doing two basic tapes.... if i can only get one of them in then i can do another one later in the day... and if i am dreading doing an hour of exercise, i can tell myself that it is only 30 minutes and will go by fast... that helps to get me started and then when the first 30 mins is up i always feel like doing more so in goes the second tape. *~*~*~*~* Carolyn in ONT Canada RE: > I am trying to work up to that but it is so > hard to take > 1 hour per day to actually work out! Guest guest
, I am brand new to the FIRM experience (just got my new tapes yesterday). No punching and kicking from what I saw when I previewed the tapes...some others in the group may be able to tell you more about other FIRM tapes and what's on them (Kerri, AmyBeth - I've read that you both do the FIRM tapes...is there any other info you might be able to give about the workout?) I did one FIRM workout today (Body Sculpt) and I liked the slight fatigue and stretch that I felt in my muscles afterward. I don't think anything is as great as TaeBo IMHO, but from previewing the FIRM tapes and doing the one today I think I will get the variety and light weights workout I need. who also enjoys kicking and punching and yelling out with my TaeBo!!! ;o)
