I know my rheumy said his preference was to try some of the more older drugs

before using the new stuff. He's not a huge fan of using the newest drugs on

Still's patients until he's had more feedback in medical journals and extended

trials. It's just his way of working.

So far so good with the Remicade. The only negative is that I get very run down

for a couple of days and I've developed the worst cold of my life since starting

it. My second infusion is this Thursday. Already I can tell a difference: I

get up and move in the mornings much better than before. So I'm hopeful. Now

if it would just control the fevers! But they say it takes time.

Good luck with the Actemra. I know several on this list are working on it. I

hope it is approved and it gives you exceptional relief!

Warmest wishes for a great day,

I would have to also say my RA doctor and my self for that matter belive the

same was lets do the old tried and true be for the new wonder things. I became

this was after trying Remacaid when it was one of the new and greatest things on

the block and for many it still is only in my case it just about became a full

cure all of my stills as how can you have stills if your dead? you it almost got

me after 8 treatments . it sent me to the ER and that turned into a week of ICU.

this happend two times before it was know it was the new wonder drug remacaid

that had done it to me. after the drug was stop most of my  ER trips also

stopped with in a month also strange looking back at it as I had that newbees

hope of a cure and or majic pill that would give me my old life back again. now

I know that will never be so I now enjoy what I have instead of morning what I

no longer can do.

hugs

Hey Marty! I'm so sorry to hear you're not well. It is so hard to have these

radical changes in our bodies and, resultingly, our minds. But stay strong, my

friend, and know that you have my support no matter what comes your way. I

always look for a few peoples' posts first when I'm reading my digest, and

you're one of them.

Thank you so much for your response, before the Remicade infusion and then again

today. I think that I hoped for a miracle cure when I started Enbrel seven

years ago, and it was a wonderful, amazing drug but it never was the cure I

wanted it to be. I've learned to take joy in the now, not worrying about

tomorrow, and letting this beast of a disease just ride my coattails

(occaisionally kicking me in the behind!), but never, ever do I let it walk side

by side with me. That affords it too much respect!

So anyway, thank you, Marty, for being such a kind person and responding to me

when I've needed you. Keep me posted on how you are doing,
